I am one of those very organized (maybe annoyingly so?) OCD people who makes detailed packing lists for each family member's clothes and one just for our "basics" (meds, toiletries, electronics, docs). As each item gets packed, that item gets color-coded on the list (with the color based on where the item gets packed). That way I can readily see any items that are still in black, ie., not yet packed. The system has worked for me for over 40 years of travel - and I honestly can not recall ever forgetting to pack anything, whether just for me, for my DH and me, or for our entire family. Now... having to replace items en route (charging cords that break, watch batteries that die, certain toiletries that we used up on long trips)? Yes, that has happened numerous times and I've always been able to do it: in all parts of Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Central America.

I'm pretty organized. I have a bag for all my items I use in the bathroom/shower - When I come home from a trip, I remove the toothbrush and put it in rotation in my home bathroom. At the same time, I put a brand new one in the travel bag. I restock the toothpaste, floss, qtips, deodorant etc at the same time. The bag is "travel ready"all the time. Another thing I do when I unpack is immediately return to the suitcase the clothespins, power transformers/extension cords, magnetic hooks, binoculars etc. These things are stored in the luggage between trips. Computer gear/camera gear goes in a gear bag right before I close up the suitcase. If I am "very excited" about a trip, I might pack all of my clothing for the trip a month or more ahead of time. I have "CRUISE CLOTHES", things I only wear for dressy nights on the ship, and getting them ready early on builds my excitement. Seems to work for me 25+ cruises in the last 20 years.

When we travel, we have an electronics bag. It is a bag specifically for all of our electronic gear, charging cords and cables. It is separate from our home one of course so once we pack it in the travel bag, it stays in a travel bag. Cords are relatively cheap nowadays, so having a duplicate pair Lets us not worry about missing or forgetting something

On my last cruise, I (also) forgot to pack two weeks worth of tee shirts. Once I was in Fort Lauderdale, I ended up at Target purchasing a bunch of them to take with me! When I got home, there they were sitting on my dresser waiting to be packed!

Making a packing list is one of my favourite parts of planning before going on vacation. Then when I get home, I take notes of what wasn’t used, or what might have been needed for next time, and reuse the lists.

I am VERY myopic - I wear -9 and -8.5 contacts, which I take out at night, so I need glasses. I have TWICE forgotten to bring my glasses with me on holiday. Once to Paris, where I was staying in a flat with my parents - luckily my Dad had brought his spare glasses, so I used them to navigate between bedroom and bathroom. Another time I was in London alone, luckily the room was tiny, so I could almost step from my bed to the bathroom. I am currently in a glamping tent at the Tønder Festival, and as you said "clothes pins" it dawned on me, that I forgot to bring the little baggie I usually have in my "Tønder-kit", containing just those. I was going through that bag, checking I had batteries, and forgot to put them back in!

Great show today. I have a tip for those clothes pins. When I cruise with my 90 year old mom in an accessible cabin they don't have shower doors. Only the shower curtain that molest you. If you put a few clothes pins on the bottom of the curtain it stays down and doesn't touch you.

I went on a cruise on the QE2 and forgot to pack my panties. I ended up buying one silk pair in the onboard Harrods store at an outrageous price and washing every time I needed to change. I never wore those panties again after the cruise.

I once forgot any shoes other than ones i was wearing when we went to visit my SIL in Indianapolis. We went to Walmart (to the horror of my SIL) and i got the best pair of summer sandals I've ever had. Years later I found a pair of sport sandals by the same brand. They've been better than more expensive sandals I've bought. My husband always forgets his toothbrush too. However, everytime he goes to the dentist, he gets a new one and leaves it in his truck. That's saved him a few times. I know you don't drive, but what about stocking up on brushes when they're on sale and putting one in each suitcase, backpack and duffle bag? Charging cords are terrible, especially for a family and every device has a different one. Mini USB, micro USB, USB-C, wide Apple, Apple Lightening, waterproof camera, 2 different Garmin bands, laptops, GPS, battery charger....

Once we forgot our camera - we left it in the trunk of our car at the airport parking. We only have 1 picture from that trip that was taken at a special dinner and we bought it. It was one of our best trips! We just enjoyed all the moments and beautiful scenery without stressing about getting pictures. It really was nice just living in the moment - we were just present. We have the memories stored in our heads and hearts - not a photo book or online albums. It really worked out well.

We have a cruise box, we put chair clips, luggage sleeves, years ago I invested into a travel set of cables I keep in small pouch. Once my folks were wintering in Florida, they joined us for a cruise and realized my dad forgot to pack underwear. He had to barrow several from my husband. No port sells them, we looked.

Packing list is so helpful! Take it with you because when your luggage gets lost it will help you for the airline claim and you know exactly what is missing! Helped a lot when our suitcase got lost and never returned. I mark all things that have been packed on the list. So you see directly what is not packed. List is for everything, suitcase and hand luggage. Like the idea of colour coding that shows where things are packed! And put an airtag in your luggage! So helpful and finally allowed.

We flew to Rotterdam for a Transatlantic cruise. I never packed my international adapter because we didn't need it on the ship. Well, we needed it for the 4 days in Rotterdam... I'm pretty sure, after all the help from the hotel and two stores, I bought the only international adapter left in Rotterdam. (not really bot it sure felt that way)

Packing used to make me crazy. I mean, *seriously* stressed out every time. Then -- duh, why didn't I think of this before?! -- I sat down and typed up a list, with specific items (phone charger, passport, sunscreen, etc.) and broader categories of items (show tickets, undies, medicine...), number of days in the trip. I printed out several copies. I always keep one copy in my suitcase. Before each trip, while I'm not rushed, I take a copy and fill it in with items specific to that trip (gift for my brother, clothes for 80's Night Party, whatever).

Good Sunday morning! I really enjoyed this video. I have 2 examples: a few years ago I forgot all of my business casual clothes for a 3 day work trip. I had them hanging on a door to keep them wrinkle free for the days prior to the trip and that’s where they were when I returned! I had to drive to Target and buy all new outfits in a rush. I also have twice forgotten my glasses case. I wear my glasses to travel but then like to wear contacts on my trip but then I don’t have a case to put my glasses away when I have to leave the hotel.

Don’t worry Morgan, you’re not alone in forgetting stuff. Admittedly, I don’t forget to pack stuff but only because I pack ages ahead and then don’t touch my case, but I do forget stuff all the time for my swim bag. I teach swimming and I’ve routinely forgotten a towel, or underwear, or a top, or a bottom, or any clothes at all. And that is why I get dressed for work in my bathers, rashies and swim shorts. Far better to go home wet (😖 sucky in winter) than forget to bring bathers to work.

I got some great clothes pins--the metal, plastic-coated things--from the dollar store before I left. I was SO glad I did so I could hang my wet towel or sink-washed clothes out on the chairs. What I usually forget is shoes. I have the pair I wear every day--just regular old tennies--but I forget to bring something to wear with, say, a dress. Or sandals for the pool deck.

Maybe my routine will help. I pack my toothbrush in its case in my suitcase as soon as I have brushed my teeth. I also put a post-it on my suitcase so I don't forget my medicine or sunscreen. Great video.

We have a list, which we go through consequently BEFORE closing the suitcase and the carry-ons. Often enough we realized things to be missing 😳 Since I require personal medication I ALWAYS, really always, carry a weekly supply in my handbag! Before we leave the house there are always the 3 questions : Passports? Tickets? Money in all its forms? We have done > 50 cruises + landbased vacations in the last 18 years and have had good results with that.

Charging cables for phone & watch, toothbrush( which does not get moldy!), deodorant etc. gives me less to think about when packing. I have, however bought many binoculars while traveling because I forget them all the time. Mostly when I’m going to NYC and I want them for the theatre. Thank you for the reminders! I bought a pair of binoculars for my first cruise and haven't used them since because they were heavier than I thought they would be and I don't have a tripod so the one video I took was shakey. Yes, it takes video and pictures, which I thought was an excellent idea, if they weren't so heavy BUT the idea of just using them from my balcony on my next cruise is an EXCELLENT idea! I better invest in a tripod too 😁 thanks!

For me, whether or not forgetting things is a disaster depends on how easily replaceable they are. When I went to visit my Mom for a long weekend and forgot to pack underwear 😳, Target was nearby. When my dive fins gave me a blister on a tiny island in Fiji, a tube of antibiotic ointment cost me $17.50 in the gift shop (20 years ago), because it was flown in from Australia! I was lucky they had it, because our resort and one village was all that island had. No popping out to the CVS.

I've forgotten stuff and now i just have duplicates of toiletries already packed in a toiletry bag. I also purchased a second multiple usb charger with a set of cables in the same bag and just leave it in their when I return from a trip. I also recommend getting RFID card shields for your credit cards and lowering the amount you can tap to purchase. Since the cabins are made of metal, get those super strong magnets to hang stuff oh, I really like how you call the port for Rome. The one that is really messed up is Livorno for Pisa and Florence, which the English call the city of Livorno, Leghorn always makes me think foghorn.😂

I typically forget something. The worst was the bridesmaid’s dress for my sister’s wedding. I lived in DC at the time and left work early, met my husband and my brother at my apartment and raced to get on the highway to drive to Connecticut. Great book...took awhile to read because I usually do audio books. I forget my mouth guard...not too much anymore. I have TMJ. Now I still everything on top of my bag to leave in the morning including electric toothbrush, toothpaste. I am in Amsterdam and I don't think I forgot anything this trip. If I did, I haven't missed it. Celebrity Apex tomorrow...can't wait, first Edge class ship and I am traveling solo. Been in Amsterdam almost a week to get over jet lag and to take in the sites. I travel with my Electric tooth brush, but i always pack a packaged spare tooth brushes in my case & Hand luggage Get small samples of toothpaste,deodorant, put them in a small makeup bag in my hand luggage (make sure they are well in date ) had enough family members forget many times. My husband is packs all the charges,cables international chargers i do reming him just incase as not the first time we forgotten. Couldn’t charge anything that one night , so annoying have to buy a New one again ,when you have …. Many already sitting at home 🫣. Have a Good week 🥰

Buy 6 toothbrushes and keep them in your suitcase. Replenish when needed. Try packing cubes and have a list for each cube. Only close the cube after checking the list. I would always forget a shower cap, and sometimes a toothbrush and toothpaste.

I don't travel a lot, but I have a separate set of "travel clothing" and travel toiletries so that I don't forget anything. But since we don't travel to remote areas, we are always in a location where there is a drugstore chain nearby where we can purchase certain liquid items that cannot travel with us. Distilled water is a big deal, as we both sleep with CPAP machines, so we run to a store first thing after check-in to buy distilled and drinking water, as well as large bottles of antacid and other items we need that aren't travel items.

Lately I hang my damp clothes on a magnetic hook from the ceiling on a hanger. When I try to use the "clothesline" in the bathroom everything seems to just slide to the middle of the line. On time we forgot toothpaste. Luckily I had a half used tiny tube of toothpaste that you get from the dentist at the bottom of my cosmetic bag and it lasted until our first port.

Morgan buy a new toothbrush and leave it in your bag because you travel so often so if you forget your toothbrush, you will already have a new one in your bag and if you use it buy another new one to put in your bag and for that matter, you might need to buy a small tube of toothpaste to go with the toothbrush 🪥 love you and Marcus and all your videos. I was traveling on a long car trip and decided to remove my contacts in a Cracker Barrel about 100 miles from home. I put the contacts in their case and left them on the bathroom sink just like I do at home. I didn’t realize what I had done until the next morning. This was before disposable contacts so I had to call the restaurant and ask them to mail them to me, which they graciously did.

Our last cruise I realized I had used my deodorant that morning before going to the airport and put it back in the bathroom cabinet! Luckily, I had a small travel one in the bottom of a travel pouch. Better to be lucky than good! 🙂 All of the things you mentioned are easy to forget. I forgot socks. To get by, I washed a pair out by hand until I could find a place to buy some. Just like you found your t-shirts ready to be packed, found the socks in a small compression bag once home.

One time I forgot to bring my prescription for reflux. I don't use it everyday, but always bring it when I go away, just in case. Thank goodness it was only a 5 day cruise, but I suffered everyday. If I had wine, I'd have to gulp water in between sips of wine. It was awful. But one night I decided to have my favorite coconut rum on the rocks. Remarkably, it soothed my reflux briefly. Never did I forget to bring that medication again.

Morgan, go to the equivalent store in Germany that is a CVS and buy new tooth brushes and drop them in your luggage. You will always have clean and new toothbrushes and toothpaste that way. Hope this helps brother. Fred San Diego Ca.

I forgot to pack my underwear, opps ,going commando was not so bad but going to dinner was a strange feeling , I was to cheep to by anymore underwear so I had a underwear less Cruise, 😳yikes , thank you for bringing me on your adventures 🛳💜

My fiance did the same thing at the pokies once. (Australian word for slots), he was at a new casino we had never been to before and he won $30 and didn't realise he was meant to transfer the winnings over to his card so he could cash it out. Same as you, someone took it and was long gone..... But worse than that, we went on a holiday once and he left $250 (every cent we had for spending) at home. We had not a cent on us. So had to wait 2 days until the lady who was looking after our cat could get to the bank and put it in our account.
