I just picked up a 2007 GTS250 with 6,400 miles. The previous owner replaced the belt and rollers in 2020, when the scooter had 4,500 miles. I'm wondering if I can wait until 9k to replace them, or if there's a time function here - namely, that the belt and rollers are almost 5 years old, even if they have only 2,000 miles on them. Scoot runs fine, but I'm just curious if this is strictly a mileage interval, or if there's a time component too.

I recommend changing it after 10 years regardless of mileage. Also how you use the scooter affects the belt life, a belt that's used at highway speeds in a hot climate is far more likely to fail prematurely.

After I remove the crankcase cover, I refit the oil filler cap. Cause I wouldn't want anything getting in the oil.
