Thanks for the instructive video. I bought a disassembled Vespa oldtimer and am wondering how the brake pedal is put together (especially how the spring and brake light switch are inserted). Is there a chance you could demonstrate that in another video?

Somewhere down the line, I'm actually getting ready to get back into my shop for a few different scooter projects and hopefully some new content, so maybe. Do you have a P series? You said "oldtimer" so I'm thinking 60's which is a different set up than the P. Which scooter do you have?

@@americanscooter504 It’s a Spanish Motovespa 160 from 1969. I’m always happy to learn anything about older Vespas, they’re mostly not too different. In this particular case, though, I’ve already figured out how the brake pedal needs is assembled 😉

@@robertcsapo9683 Yeah, thats different than the P. Pretty simple mechanism though. Removing that pin can be a real pain! Ive been wanting to modify that style for the T cable too. One of these days I'll actually do it!

I had my tx in to get a new top end fitted to the engine. The mechanic said the engine itself was the dirtiest one he had ever seen he scrapped about a kilo of crap of the block could of caused the thing to over heat. I blamed the previous owner 😅

The T5 brake cable has a threaded end on it, the original P series does not. The P rear brake cable is clamped using this special bolt, and you have to hold the cable tight and then adjust it with this slack adjuster under the motor. Its incredibly difficult to get the rear brake super tight. This kit allows you more finite adjustments for a super tight rear brake which lends to better and safer stopping power.
