Installing Clip-On Legshield Trim on a Vintage Vespa

We showed how to install this legshield trim on a P series Vespa, but it will work on just about any wide frame vintage Vespa. Here, we install on this 1962 VBB, for a clean, finished look.

This stuff is great and I did manage to get it on my VBA. A couple of thoughts - it might be easier if you're right handed to start with the left side of the bike rather than the right like the video. For me the hardest part was getting it around that final bend on the leg shield. Granted, my leg shield bend is not exactly "factory perfect" and that definitely made it harder, but it would have been easier to be able to push with my right hand on the right side of the bike. Also, I ended up hitting the trim with the butt of my palm a few times, just make sure it's at least started in the groove. I also had a plastic "spludger" that really did the trick around the top part. Hope all of this helps someone. It does look fantastic now that it's on!

That rivet seems hard to drill out or remove, i tried a hole punch on my P200e but nada, any hints to get it drilled out? Is there some kinda vice to hold the drill bit in place? tia

It's a beautiful bike, and I actually like the black, but if its an all original, putting black plastic trim from a new PX onto an otherwise original 1962 vespa doesn't make a lot of sense...
