Since most new players are playing on the stock PS4 controller we can better understand the motions when you take a second to demonstrate them like that. The whole video's great. Thanks for the video explanation. I just started playing SFV and couldn't figure out why I was getting a super from that combo almost every time. I asked my cousin, who has been playing for years, if the game uses a fill-in-the-blank system for inputs. They told me I wasn't good enough to do clean inputs, even though my key display showed clean inputs. They invited me to a battle lounge and they couldn't do it consistently either. Even though I'm not very good at the game I could at least figure out what you called input leniency was happening. Subbed.

The way I figured it out was that if you make sure you end the dp motion by pushing the stick into the corner instead of sweeping it forward, you're guaranteed to get the dp. To use anime game numpad notiation, making sure you do 5236323 instead of 52363236.

I prefer using just down for the normal, and then doing down-forward, down, down-forward + P for the DP cancel, but maybe that's easier on keyboard than on stick. I basically just have to tap my index finger twice instead of move a stick around. If I want the super afterwards, I just have to make sure to go to forward after the first motion and then do another QCF. The part I don't like about this method is that it doesn't consider the case where a character has a command normal on down-forward + punch. As mentioned by others, Necalli can't use this method to perform something like cr.HP xx HP DP because he has a df+HP command normal. Thus, if you learn to DP that way, you might run into certain barriers with certain characters or different games and have to train yourself out of your muscle memory. But I guess it's better learning some exceptions to the method here and there than to be completely stuck with a problem.

Thank you for the video. Can you please explain how to hit dual upper cut (shoryuken) with Ryu or Ken? I have seen players often hitting dual upper cuts to their opponent but I cant figure out how. By dual I mean, they hit the first uppercut and while the opponent is in the air they hit the second one before he hits the ground .

+Pedro Parker It's a hand technique called "Double Tapping". I'm pressing the button twice, as fast as humanly possible. This helps secure the combo from not dropping.

Doing d+P, df, d, df, f+P would result in cr. HP xx CA I highly recommend (if you're playing as Ryu) to get used to doing your cr. HP with a df input, it allows you to very easily cancel it into either DP or Tatsu without fucking up the motion with additional inputs. Of course you cannot Hadouken from a df starting position, but you shouldn't be cancelling cr. HP into a fireball anyway.
