This was quite helpful. I've seen combo videos for Bison where they briefly explain before saying basically "If you don't get it, sell your game". I've never been good with charge characters, but I told myself that I'd pick up Bison no matter what people say about him. This should be incredibly helpful.

I don't play SFV,but I do play MvC2 and its frustrating trying to learn Hulk Combos since the only reliable way to land his supers is to land a gamma charge.Even then,you can't nessicarly charge while in the air at times.

Hi VesperArcade, I don't know if you mentioned dash or walk into CA in your "movement" video. If you didn't then how come it wasn't mentioned here? Is it because you are saving it for a later video or want to keep the information more simple? Thank you for your efforts and support of new players like me back in 2010/2011! You helped me grow a lot as a new player. P.S. At 14:51 you began speaking about how a player loses "back charge" when they perform a jumping cross-up so they won't be able to execute a short combo ending with a charge move. You are right! They do lose back charge which is why I jump with forward charge which turns into a full back charge once I land on the other side. Please add an annotation to that part of the video so new players can learn about forward charge becoming a back charge upon crossing over to the other side of their opponent. - KaizenMaster

I mean, NuckleDu (as of right now the best Guile probably) uses the Ps4 pad. I think the joypad vs arcade stick argument should die already, with enough practice it doesn't make a difference what anyone uses.

What helped me get good at sonic booms and flash kicks was playing games like sf2ww and sf2 ce along with other old games. I’m 14 and my dad taught me to play guile on old games so that kinda transferred over into other games

(5:00)Um, I guess cross ups are annoying with charge. Really just matters which position your guarding in (standing guard or crouching guard). Switching sides does lose the charge, however this puts them in range to charge it while you *counter hit* then you can simply string it off the counter, Charge time isn't as bad as most make it seem

I watch Daigo play with Guile, and It doesnt seem like he is charging at all. His Guile stand still, and the Sonic booms come so easly. I really wish to know How he does that

He has a Hitbox. Hitboxes replace the joy stick on arcade sticks with buttons. If you press forward and backward at the same time with a Hitbox it still counts the inputs but you don’t move. You can do the same on keyboard. I don’t use one myself but I’m pretty sure that’s the tech

Dude showed how to do it in the video. You can stop moving if you crouch while walking backward. If you press forward you will stand. Pay closer attention next time and i was just here to learn how to charge attack dont even have the game but its just a simple fighting game mechanic

@@marcisarn2365 if you do it fast enough on startup of every attacks you can do it or you got technical advantage since there are even guiles that can walk forward and throw booms with hitbox (?) Also when you go backwards its block so you can stop moving when an enemy attack.

TonYe Kcol Performing a st.normal into a charge move is easier than you think. With back to forward, you hold back or hit neutral then forward to cancel. With down to up, you charge down, hit neutral then hit up immediately afterwards to cancel.

U don't need fast buffering for his st fierce to cr m u can cancel the flash kick late on the medium punch and still have it combo but u still need to be kinda fast but not crazy fast

charge character seem hard at first but there really not that hard to learn but them are harder to win with most of the time they are really susceptible to moves that make u lose your charge like cross ups that why it very very important to be good at anti airing and footies if u want to play a charge character i use to hate them but I love them now plus charge times in sfv are much shorter

Specifically the character named Vatista, whom is mainly a charge attack based character. She has somewhat the same mechanics, but with differences that make her a little harder to use than characters like Guile.
