Think about it, the insert really does not reduce the amount of air, it is hollow with holes. The vacmaster has solid inserts that do reduce the air. My vevor comes this week and I am going to get a couple cheap cutting boards to use in the chamber. Thanks for the video!

I get what you are trying to say, but anything that has mass reduces volume.

Can you use bulk style bags and make your own? If so how do you seal one end before filling it with whatever you’re using it for 🤔

Well assuming they have bags for these in rolls you'd just seal one side, nothing would happen to the other side. But all the rolled bags I have seen are not smooth inside and not for chamber vacs.

Just got the exact same machine and after some searching I discovered this machine doesn't have "Dual"seal even though it says on the panel. I'm guessing a lot of the parts in this machines are used on various models including the control panel so the "dual seal" function applies to some other unit that has dual heat strips which this machine does not.

It does the seal is simply wider. Not like in two separate places.

@@survivalpodcasting If I choose dual seal on mine it just runs through the process twice( from vacuum to cool down with no width difference in seal).

What size do u think can do a whole cooked brisket

You are not going to do something that large in a chamber vac without going into a very expensive commercial machine, I am talking something that doesn't move or is on wheels and in the 5K or up range. For long things like a brisket it is better to use an old school vac sealer as they can do any length. Or cut the meat to size to fit in something like this. There is a hack to use vac sealer style bags outside the machine with a chamber vac, sadly that is one downside to this one. Since the seal bar is in the back the hack won't work. Here is the hack kzbin.info/www/bejne/roSVm3mYrZtqY80 IT SHOULD WORK with any chamber vac with a long enough bar and sealing in front which most have. IDK but I have my doubts I don't think mylar goes with chamber vac machines but I have never even considered it. I will have to look into it.

Yes they do but all they have currently are dehydrators.
