Nice to see an honest review, not skewed by sponsorship or bias. Just another reason I follow your channel.

Thanks Brian! We’re honest to a fault😂😂 but the way we see it, anything we recommend has our name on it and we don’t want anyone wasting money on bad products.

That has got to be the most honest review I’ve seen on KZbin, and to know the company actually listened to y’all and took your suggestions to heart and allowed you to put the flaws on video says a lot about them. I’m usually hesitant to buy Amazon branded power tools, but knowing all that, I’d be a bit more comfortable buying vevor.

Thanks so much. Yes we were mostly impressed with the saw. But we were really impressed with the communication and openness with the company.

@@oldave100 I’d suggest they change the name in their manual to job site table saw instead of bench type circular saw. 😂 otherwise, the saw seems kinda impressive honestly. It says it can take a 1/2” dado, I didn’t see that coming from an Amazon brand.

Excellent honest review. I also appreciate that you were able to talk about the cons just as honestly as the pros. I have an old table saw I may be replacing soon. The thing I don't like about it is that the blade guard does not come off the riving knife. The only way to make non through cuts is to take the entire riving knife piece off. The safety is greatly reduced. Does the Vevor come off separately?
@oldave100

Thanks Miss Donna. Yes the blade guard comes off super easy, just a few seconds....

Thank you guys. I always look forward to your reviews. I think the 90 degree is for the dust extraction and the straight is for any shavings or cut offs that fall through the blade plate so it doesn't clog the vacuum hose, I'm guessing.

I bought this table saw and have only used it a couple of times so far. It cuts really good with the blade provided. I've ripped some plywood and cedar boards; not sure how it will do with hardwoods yet. I have to agree on the folding stand. It took me a painful 3 hours of assembly. I had to file the square part of the head of every single carriage bolt (qty 16). The wheels were a bit small and cheap in my opinion. Not sure how long they'll last. The price was the best. I got it for $202, including tax and shipping.

Yeah, the saw itself was actually pretty impressive for the price. But that stand was beyond frustrating.

Great job on doing the review! I wasn't familiar with Vevor but looks like a good entry level saw if they make the changes you suggested. I thought your Sunday email said Vicki was going to be on tonight?

Working alone, I spent three hours yesterday assembling the stand. Then discovered it was wrong! Got back at it this morning . I watched your video, paused it to study the stand, figured out what I did and fixed it in about another hour. At least it was the last two joints I messed up on so didn't have to disassemble the whole thing. Hearing what you said about Vevor creating an assembly video, I went to their channel and looked for it. Spent about twenty minutes searching their playlists and videos but there is no video for the stand. Maybe they intend to but it hasn't happened, yet. Mounted the saw on the stand, plugged it in and pushed the go button. Man! That thing snaps to attention in a hurry! Played around a little, did not make any cuts, yet. Started looking for the accessory storage on the saw. I see a place on each side, one under the table. Nothing fits any of the storage places! They still have some work to do. I enjoyed your video, love seeing a father and son working together! Great job! 😃 Phil

You are correct, the instructions for the stand are virtually impossible! I've been working on mine for 4 hours by myself and there are definitely ite changes i have to make so several pieces have to be removed and redone!

Does the saw come with another riving knife that’s slightly lower than the blade itself? Think half lap joints.

@@oldave100 can it be lowered?
@philbrandon0532
@philbrandon0532 Жыл бұрын
That smaller L shape fence attachment assists you with your cross cuts on the mitre gauge, hence the different scale... Allowing a smoother cut and prevents kickback when used lowering that cause of injury on the main rip fence. 🙈 You probably will see other users placing a block of material against the rip fence, and for any thinner material I would use either a sled or a band saw myself.
@oldave100
@oldave100 Жыл бұрын
That makes sense now. Thanks for the heads up. Obviously I don't do much crosscutting on the table saw. I like the chop saw for that.

@@oldave100 I've the Evolution Rage 5S myself and the same attachment can be used to keep the material on the table against the fence when fully extended out to the sides preventing a dip...

You wouldn't connect both ends of that hose to the saw. You'd either use the top port on the blade guard, or the port in the back. The other end connects to your vacuum. Doing that, the hose shouldn't be in the way.
@oldave100
@oldave100 Жыл бұрын
That could be, nothing in the instructions to tell us anything about that. Thanks for the tip.

I have the Evolution model for indoors and also the Excel model for job sites, and the Excel one does have the same setup which when top hose from the guard is connected to the rear port but it has a T connection on the hose which does go to the dust collection vacuum and keeps it tidy...

I mean I guess you could connect the blade guard and that side port, and then connect the end port to the dust collector, but that would be one weird setup. I don't know how effective that would be.

I have never heard of this company. It looks like a Ridgid knock-off in its physical design. To be honest, the instructions for putting together my Ridgid stand were about as good these were. My big drawbacks are: 1) no locking the blade in place. 2) flimsy mechanicals of the blade mechanism as Ryan pointed out. For an entry-level saw, I can see someone liking it and creating decent work with it. Good, honest tool review, guys.
