I love how you can hear the dark undertones creeping up in the beginning. It starts out with the whimsical and fairy tale essence of Bandle City. The mix of these two really highlight Vex's character: a dark presence in a region filled of sunshine; an outsider who doesn't seem to belong. Amazing work!

I love the way Yordles keep mimicking the places they live in to the extremes, like how living in the Shadow Isles has Vex be this necromantic umbral powerhouse but also a stereotypical edgy teenager, or Poppy in Demacia being this absolute paragon paladin but also totally blind to the terrible crimes her nation is inflicting on its own people. Kled is a martial powerhouse but also a hillbilly nutjob parodying imperialism. Heimerdinger in Piltover, Ziggs in Zaun, etc. It makes me want to see Shuriman, Targonian, Ixtali, and Freljordian yordles.

looking at some of the early concepts, they made a tradeoff, she had to stop looking threatening to start looking pissed or careless. Is interesting to know that the artists actually had the idea of making a genuinely threatening Yordle, Veigar is kinda strong but is Veigar, and Gnar is more like the hulk (an inconsistent threat).

Some of these concepts could literally be entirely separate yordle champions on their own and you'd never know it was originally a Vex concept if they never showed it or told you. A lot of these look REALLY cool. A beast tamer yordle? A rock bending yordle with chaotic energy? A yordle dual weilding various weapons? A yordle using a magical staff? You'd never know.

@@Ayahuasca98 easy yes, but they don't have easy kits. most of them have pretty bloated kits on release, and are still easy to play, which is the main reason so many people cry about the op new champions, because they are way too easy for their full and gigantic kits. vex was a nice exception, as she has a pretty simple kit, but leaves room for skill expression in the mechanics of her gameplay, and not the other way around.

Possibly the best designed Champion for me, certainly up there with Zoe, Jhin, and Neeko. Vex has great animations, well designed character model, works really well in the game engine, and the voice lines are too good. 10/10 for me, give the entire team that worked on her a bonus.

yeah, but vex's current desgin fits into the idea yordles are supposed to be parodies of regions or champions. Just as Kled is a parody of Noxian Warband pride and Veigar is a parody of Mordekaiser, trying to imitate his evilness the best he can and absolutely failing. I can see Vex being a parody of Viego and the Shadow Isles, a place where the only thing you'll get is suffering (something that Vex absolutely loves) and the idea of her being an angsty teen is perfect when applied to her being a parody of Viego. The guy just radiates angst and fake deep energies wherever he goes and Vex totally digs it. It's just an act, a phase we could say. Her shadow really shows who she is, the shadow being optimistic, mostly laughing and dancing when Vex seems to hate it. It's her yordle side which she wants to "put behind her". TL;DR the current design better fits her personality.

The song gives me odd vibes. It starts nice, fittin' the 'fairy'/yordle vibe. Then it turns into slight horror/monster, and then the droppin's that fit more for like, a character that snaps and intentionally kills for fun. And Vex, if she kills, looks like she'd do it because someone is trying to get her first and she, in her most uninterested way, will just smack'em with Shadow. Though that said, the song is really cool.
