It would be a 46 inch diameter and a 23inch radius

I am definitely going to upgrade my fl18 to the pro view transducer.

Simple Geometry. More gain, more distortion and interference. There’s Cons and Pros to everything

Great video with awesome tips!

Thanks Tom, I am guessing that the area for the cone expands as the water depth increases? Meaning, if you did that same test with the 19 degree ice ducer in 16 feet water depth (double your test), I am guessing that the point that you would see your lure would be greater than the 23 inches in this test?

double the depth, double the diameter.

Any video for hard and soft bottom? And how can I know on screen that is big fish or small fish , I spent hours for small Perch

I had a really hard time using my proview ducer in shallow water, it excelled in deep water though. I think I would have kept my 28 if it would have had a selectable dual beam like both my HB and Marcum had. I just couldn’t get used to the Proview. It seemed like there was too much power and I understand about the weed mode and lp mode, but that was too much messing around for my liking. I know lots of people who really like their proview though.

My FLX-28 is the opposite Runs great in Shallow water like weeds and sand bars but past 45ft i couldnt pick up my jig at all and i was using a 3mm tungsten! My LX7 couldnt pick up in shallow but would pinpoint a 3mm tungsten at 50ft+ no problem!

@@ST4R1SM1NE maybe I should have been more clear. It worked fine in shallow water but even with the gain at zero everything was blobby and exaggerated.

DTroFishOn that’s what low power mode is for
@3RiversFishingAdventures6 жыл бұрын
@@brandonquern6817 as I said in my original reply. I understand about weed mode and low power mode, just not my preference to have to mess around with any of that. A dual beam option would be better. Just my opinion though.

The thing i don't understand about the pro view is how do adjust the cone but not get to much interference

So if I'm fishing multiple close holes or with a buddy in my shack, and using just one locator, the Proview would be the way to go?

I do it all the time with an old fl8. Factor in the deeper water. I tell my buds when they are about to get a bite.

What kind of transducer arm are you using?

Are those hinged transducer support arms for sale as a stand alone product?
@zachshott78336 жыл бұрын
@@coreystuder6882 I appreciate it. I wasn't specific enough though. I'm looking for one for the Genzs pack, bought a marcum arm last year and have it rigged up pretty good. Thanks again though

The deeper you fish the more cone angle youll have but more clutter and less of a pickup. And it also depends on your unit as well

Also note that anything beyond 45ft the ProView is trash

In deep water I can see anyone 10 feet away. My Vex is an old fl-8😏

You mean 23 inches around at the BOTTOM right, not all the way down?
@ST4R1SM1NE6 жыл бұрын
Also note that anything beyone 45ft the ProView is trash. Cant and wont pick up a 3mm tungsten! The best setup imo would be the Tri-Beam setup
@AgronomistatIA3 жыл бұрын
Tom needs to realize that proview in shallow water fishing and turning the gain up for a "larger" cone is a joke. A tri beam was Far superior to the pro view.....but now to get a multiple cone u need to drop $800 on a vexilar..FLX30BB......lmfao.....
