I've been working on a HPA set up that fits in a 200 round ammo box (I use the VFC). Well, I did have to cut a hole in the cover of the box for the end of the regulator that sticks out ~.5 inch at the top. But, there is room for a loader in there as well. The bottle is connected with a small quick connect fitting with shut-off, for quick swapping. I just got back in from my first test on a full bottle. Loaded in ~4200 PSI and ~1600 BBs. I set the pressure of the regulator to 100-130. I have a new more accurate gauge coming in soon. Only mod to the M249 is the bucking in this video. Checked the first 50-100 rounds with a chrono. Recorded 302-307 FPS, 758-761 RPM on .28 BBs (and some .20 I had loaded before checking weight). Shot in bursts of 20-100. When it was done the air ran out first. Open top to eject mag, pop off QD connector, and unclip the box. Then you could just grab a full box and reverse. Weighed the BBs and have ~500 left. After a successful test I now plan on making a second box. I have all the parts here, if there is interest I could share pics, videos, info, or make a guide. It will have to wait a bit though, I'm about to finish a long build, converting my cam870 to semi-auto. The dream of a self contained HPA box mag is possible.

So, I've been working on my own M249, and I've decided to go a slightly different direction. I've replaced the connections as you did with standard 8mm quick connect hardware, but retained the box-mag. I've filled the unused space in the box-mag with a small self-winding hopper, and am currently working on a replacement for the cartridge mag, but using a similar tube feed like you have done at the momment. A few downfalls of my design are this: 1. Hopper capacity is much lower than if I were using the full box-mag cavity. 2. Reloading requires considerably more time than just removing the cartridge mag, but the hopper can be reloaded directly if need be. Some things I'm still working on are: 1. Slightly smaller gas reservoir in order to increase size of hopper in the box-mag. 2. A self-centering feed lip assembly, with a dummy cartridge mag assembly, in order to ensure smoother reloads if I need to go through the full reload (replacing one box-mag with a new one as apposed to just filling the hopper directly). I know there are distinct advantages to going full HPA as you have, but it doesn't fit my play style.

In theory, could you take a micro regulator, a wolverine adapter and use the scuba cartridges inside an AEG box mag and have the line for air and bbs in one box mag? I did something similar with a FAL and a kythera and hid the scuba cartridge in the stock. You would lose some bbs but would eliminate an external line and tank

The issue is you would be lucky to get 1000 rounds off a fill, realistically it’s probably closer to 500-700 since a normal hpa system gets about 1000 rounds on a 13ci tank and those use way less air then a hpa gbb

Im unframiliar with HPA stuff, would one of the smaller HPA tanks be able to fit in a cloth M249 pouch? Because that seems like it would resolve the issue of being hooked up to a bag or carry pouch and keep it a self contained unit

It wouldn't but with a bit of persuasion it fits in the bigger box mags. This however kills any space for bbs

Has anyone in your group tried the VFC M249 Airsoft Gun CO2 Air Supply Ammunition Box on the VFC M249? The unit holds two 90 gram co2 cartridge's, so that would be 180 grams total. I am curious as to whether this would be able to provide enough gas to empty 10 stock mags with 125 bbs in each mag. I would prefer the self contained package and the more realistic reload requirement if that is possible.

More realistic internal layout (and open bolt operation), much lower entry price, and now generally easier hop tuning. It is very similar for sure; we're hoping VFC fixes the cassette mags to offer more options, as the realistic manual of arms and not needing a box mag (once HPA'd) are what set it apart from Daytonas or solenoid-based HPA systems.

Can you actually fit an original Minimi stock (Para or classic skeleton stock) on that one ? I've tried to do so on a G&P M249 but the pins were completly in the wrong position, the receiver isn't true 1/1 scale or at least they have taken a lot of liberties in making their parts. I didn't take the time to try the other parts tough (feed cover, handguard). Inokatsu made an incredibly expensive replica but It's probably a scam, just by seeing the Allen screws on the barrel (outside the chamber) that shouldn't be there at all....

Funny enough, I have a Maple Leaf 2023 Decepticons bucking and it came with two rings: the typical one, but also a smaller black one. Would that work instead of the Wonder bucking, or is the barrel lock unnecessary?

A standard 90/4500 is good for ~7K shots at 100 PSI. We do not recommend the use of SLP tanks/regs for any GBB application.

I've should definetly have seen this video 30 minutes ago.... I tried to install the standoff and messed up the f*king nozzle srping. The nozzle came out of the bolt, but that stupid retainer still hanging with the screw and the messed spring. And as i removed the pin that hold the spring to the nozzle there is no way to install it again. (yes i know I've suouldn't but i didnt want to destroy the spring and thought i could grab the nut from the inside to hold it and unscrew it.... my luck is awesome) I cannot f*king unscrew it... it just spins inside. The worst dessign possible.. it should have been just a cross pin or a c-clip not a f*king screw with a slightly oval shape nut, and a cubic meter of trheadlock. I'm quite angry right now with that VFC engeneer that decided that was a good solution. I think I have to drill that screw out.. it's the only way. and gonna buy new bolt and nozzle from WGC...

Finally removed it, fortunatelly i had one of those flat screwdrivers with U shape, so I could hold the spring nut with that while unscrewing the bolt. My predictions where correct.. there is a huge amount of threadlock. Fortunatelly the spring is not very damaged, but definetly gonna get a new one. Now time to clean the glue, and assemble it back.

This is amazing. Yet this is unfortunately not a replica that should be used on every/any sunday game. It's clearly falling in the HPA/Very high cap mag combo that is more spray and pray + pay to win that anything else and would destroy the fun of almost any opponent. Or, rules need to be clear about that so everyone is happy :D But now... I want meself one :p
