Endgame was snubbed for Score but not for the CGI/visuals 1917 Deserved the win for Best Visual, Endgame looked amazing yes but none of the tech or techniques were special or unique, 1917 had an amazing visual which takes a lot more work to get right you ccant just fix things with CGI in that movie

What blows my mind is how little vfx artists and teams actually get in the grand scheme of things, they are responsible , especially in this case for the entire film. Most work on the film is done by vfx artists whether it be cgi , 3d models and such, but the vfx artists for many movies come up in the credits almost last, after the catering team. Catering is important on sets yeah, but like really? The people responsible for almost everything you see.

something i found interesting about it is the fact that theres more than one company working on these effects, i always thought it was only ILM but it makes sense to divide work, the thing is though that might be even harder, its like when you have to do something in group but every one does a different part and dont communicate about it, luckily he even said they can communicate well with the marvel and ILM team.

I really think if 1917 didn’t come out this year/wasn’t nominated to best VFX, Endgame would have won. I also really wanted Endgame to win, but I knew the Academy would choose 1917 because that’s just the kind of movie they pick🤷🏻♀️
@amy_yoshikawa4 жыл бұрын
Mads415 It's not because of that's just the kind of movie they pick Duhhh! 1917 visual effects was so realistic that noone even notice and that's a clever effects, creative and something new. Endgame I admit it has the best VFX from the last decade of cinema But still if you think about it properly that's not something new and that trend has been going for years now. So I think Oscar made a right choice. Though even I want Endgame to win for sure if 1917 wasn't there.

@@amy_yoshikawa what the hell are you talking about? every thing from 1917 was already done in birdman. the effects from endgame are things that have never even been attempted in film, and as is presented in this reaction, there are vfx in endgame that people didn't know were vfx and thought were real, including the time suits.

1917 Deserved the win for Best Visual. They came up with such a visually outstanding film without the OVERUSED CGI and tech.
@thechad44854 жыл бұрын
1917 had consistently good visuals. While minimal. Unfortunately, there was nothing outstanding about it. It was barely any more special than an average war movie. Nothing groundbreaking, just good. Endgame, however, is a vastly different story. When every shot is breaking new ground, and achieving what was previously thought impossible in every scene, Endgame should have won.

Best CGI is one that you can't notice in the movie and all Marvel movies have that uncanny feeling to me. Actors are never at location it is always a green room and you can feel it. More and more they are computer generated animated movies then real life. So yes, Avengers did not win for a reason and I am glad. CGI is a great tool but overusing it is a crutch.
@faizfuad83614 жыл бұрын
or you just trained yourself to highlight that everything is CGI whenever you watch a superhero movie so you never actually able to immerse yourself in the story itself, or even stop to appreciate the people who actually put the immense amount of work into these CGI. it's alright. some people have quirks. just that one shouldn't be selling those quirks as "legit" reasons to stand against something or someone.
@goran77ish4 жыл бұрын
@@faizfuad8361 why not? I respect people working on special effects but this movies have time limited time to make and they are doing the best job with what they have. I respect that but it is an assembly line, even if it is not done perfect it have to go out. Also, that statement some people worked so hard on something so you don't get to critique it is not valid. Tommy Wyso or whatever is he called did loads of work on "The Room" and it is still considered to be a bad movie. I want movies to feel like they are realistic and Marvel movies feel more and more like cartoons.

so the story is the reason not to recognize the great work in cgi? are you one of those sappy people who voted those with sad backstories in tv competitions?
@goran77ish4 жыл бұрын
@@faizfuad8361 but, as I say, lot of Marvel movies don't have great cgi, it is not just the story. You know, movie is a full package, you can't say the movie was great because it had great music alone even tho rest of it makes no sense. Let me tell you want was my favorite superhero thing so far, the Boys. At least it is something new and it has great sense of humor. Marvel movies are made of same formula, just swap heroes. One movie that I sould have liked is "Blac widow", and then I saw trailer and over the top bullshit, flying in the air and the rest. It is just a noise. CGI used to impress me but now it is a common thing so we need more then just it.

@@salomaogomes7311 high art? what kinda pathetic loser calls marvel movies high art? im no film buff but man im not fucking stupid enough to say something like that. the movie was convoluted, filled to the brim with plot holes and inconsistencies. the blame is on the directors, who chose to put so much emphasis on secrecy to avoid spoilers that they actually neglected to do their fucking jobs, which is to direct. making a movie with a giant cast isnt whats safe about endgame. in fact, that was super risky and played a role in why it was so bad. they tried and failed to pull all the plot points together. whats safe is that marvel spent 10 years oversaturating the superhero genre because they found repeated success in it and did it once again, but this time advertised as something special. the only reason its so popular is because the past 10 years of marvel movies were all advertisements, and those advertisements worked. like what you like, but jesus fucking christ calling endgame high art is a big fucking stretch.
