I'm so happy to see people who appreciate the jaw dropping VFX in speed racer. I love this movie and it blows my mind that it gets so little attention. That final race is visually brain melting amazing.
@ryanatorryanson95353 жыл бұрын
It was too far away from the original cartoon. They were relying on nostalgia of the (at that point) 30 somethings that watched it back in the early 80s, but They changed it TOO much.
@supersizesenpai3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanatorryanson9535 😂😂😂 If there is one anime that would need a revamp for the new age its Speed Racer. You say "too much was change" but I disagree. Honestly outside of the vibrant colors (obviously) I really don't see what else is so different. They had every main character including the damn monkey. Which (if I'm being honest) would be a hard sell in any movie but they somehow pulled it off without it being cringey or distracting. The movie also had the action filled racing with advanced high powered vehicles just like in the anime. Sure the movie is going to be an upgrade to the anime because the anime came out in the 60's. What people seem to forget when they criticize this movie is that the anime was as goofy as it was action filled and this movie gave us every ounce of that. So I'm not really understanding why you think so much was changed when they've clearly added everything from the original anime. I honestly think you have no idea what you are talking about but whatever.

@Anonymous-73 That is true, however, and especially in the earlier years of CGI, realistic graphics will eventually start looking outdated, even amazingly made CGI will show its date sooner or later However, CGI or animation in general that focuses on having strong art direction will never feel outdated. Take this very movie for example, or anime like Gurren Lagann or movies like Into the spiderverse, if you didnt know about them beforehand it would be pretty hard to "date" them based on the animation quality.
