Remember when I think Niko said it, that it would be cool to explore fan films or videos on KZbin with VFX? We haven't gotten that much of that and those kinds of videos are still good to analyze whether it's good or bad CGI. Hell, if someone out there made something impressive with small resources it's good information for aspiring filmmakers and VFX artists out there who want to achieve a lot with a little.

I would love if you guys covered the 1997 classic, Anaconda. It's a major motion picture with this incredibly floaty CGI snake that not only defies gravity - but warps reality when taking down cast members. Bending reality around Owen Wilson, floating in mid-air down the inside of a factory, or doing both to Jon Voight. There's a CGI snake regurgitation scene. And there's a realistic practical snake animatronic to boot. It has everything. It's right up your alleyway and a real treat. Thank you.

One of the MCU’s worst VFX shots is never going to be as bad as one of the most awful effects ever. I think it's hard for them to do a "bad cgi" video because 1) they understand the kind of work that has to go into these shots 2) they understand that there are a variety of factors that are completely out of the vfx crew's control (time, budget, etc) that affect the outcome of a shot and 3) calling out "bad" shots can be seen as professional smack talk, even if it isn't intended that way. The guests are there to promote their work, and the work of the studio. It's plausible that WETA only agrees to have their artists on if they have final approval on the episode, which means that they are not going to be cool with pointing out bad things. But I think you have a point and it would be cool if Corridor would ask "Hey, they show is called Good and BAD CGI, so it would be cool if there is something less than stellar that we can take a look at as well, if you have anything. The audience understands that this stuff is hard and it would be really informative to talk about these kinds of shots". On the other hand, I think all the VFX people that they have had on the show so far have been supervisors or some sort of higher up. And it's not cool to dunk on the work of your employees.

*Except for the inaccurate portrayal of Koba, the bonobo (not a chimp) who leads a mutiny. In nature, bonobos are matriarchal and resolve their conflicts using sex. Even if they get into a fight they make up quickly via sexual behavior. But the filmmakers chose Koba to behave opposite his species' nature and in the process create an image for audiences of a dark-skinned ape being violent towards a lighter-skinned ape who happens to be his alpha.* It plays a bad message to the ape called human.

I’d love to see some reactions to more Stargate scenes, specifically the gould symbiotes, they were originally practical and by season three of SG1 I believe, they became entirely cg, which looked worse in my opinion, they got a bit better in later seasons, around seasons 5-8 they started looking a lot better. Otherwise, there are many different spaceships and related effects eg; hyperspace, explosions, weapons fire, movement and visuals in sg1, Atlantis, universe and the movies that are all very different in terms of animation quality, art direction, etc. The Stargate itself has many different iterations of the look of the event horizon, wormhole travel, Stargate dhd & Stargates etc. There are many different monsters and aliens which are both practical and cg, varying in levels of quality and art direction. There are a lot of examples of differences in setwork and cities/planets art directions and miniature vs cg across all the series and movies. I would absolutely love to see an episode focusing on the Stargate series and looking at some of the defining moments/designs of the Stargate cinematic universe, there are many moments that defined and rewrote the history of cgi and shaped the childhoods of many people, if I were to be asked what my favourite universe in the history of cinema is, I would answer Stargate.

For example, when in the new Bamtan or Gothem they added ghotic statues and old buildings in to real citie shot. Or in a game of thrones they left a lot of the original location in the shot, but added new elements.

If you want a bit of a breakdown of all of Tony's suits in this movie, I've got you covered. It's a bit of a read, but if you want to look any of them up, this should help. He has a suit for every occasion. He was building them because he didn't ever want to be caught off guard in a situation he can't handle. He has some that are super fast (Mark 19 Tiger, Mark 31 Piston, Mark 40 Shotgun and Mark 41 Bones) These are mainly used for high velocity traveling or fighting where he needs to get to and stay at super high speeds. There are some that have heavier physical capabilities making them a lot stronger than a normal Iron Man suit. (Punches and such) The Marks 25, 34, 35 and 38, Striker, Southpaw, Red Snapper and Igor fall into this category. He has several Stealth suits (Mark 15, 16, and 18 (Sneaky, Nightclub, and Casanova respectively) as well as Mark 27, Disco (which is known as a "Chameleon suit", and can camouflage into it's surroundings) There are several suits that put out extra power such as Blue Steel (Mark 30) which has enhanced repulsors and had more power for using those repulsors than a normal suit. There's a long distance flight suit (Mark 20, Python) which has more power supplied to it's flight boosters. Heartbreaker (Mark 17) also has advanced repulsor tech. It has an enlarged reactor core which it uses to fire massive chest beams. Tank, the Mark 24 and Romeo, the Mark 32 armor also have this feature. Tank is built to take a lot of damage and can create a repulsor shield for protection. (I'm assuming it's the same type of shield we see Tony use against Thanos' Power Stone in Infinity War.) He has several suits that can survive in space/underwater/high altitudes with extra oxygen built into the suits. (The Marks 21, and 39. Midas, and Starboost are meant for high altitudes and space, and the Mark 37, Hammerhead is meant for deep dives under the ocean. It can fully submerge itself without shorting out.) The Mark 23 (Shades) is a suit that can resist extreme heat. Striker; the Mark 25 (a construction armor), and Gamma, The Mark 26; can resist electricity as well as Gamma radiation. The Mark 28, Jack, also protects against large amounts of radiation. The one you see with the hidden blades in the wrists is called "Silver Centurion". It's the Mark 33 armor. There are more, but these are some of the Marks 6-41 that we see in the House party scene. Side note, the one that falls apart all the time; the one that Tony can control without having to be inside it; is the Mark 42 armor. It's known as Tony's "Extremis Armor" in the MCU. The Nanotech suit is Mark 85. That means that Tony has made at least 85 suits over the years. The Mark 85 was his strongest, fastest, and safest suit ever made. Also also, there have been 7 versions of the War Machine armor. The War Machine Mark 1 is just the Iron Man Mark 2. It's used only as a War Machine suit in Iron Man 2. The Mark 2 shows up for the first time as the Iron Patriot in Iron Man 3. It shows back up in Age of Ultron with it's standard back and silver paint job. The Mark 3 is used in Civil War, which was destroyed by Vision hitting the arc reactor. (Tony, I'm flying dead stick!). It's the only suit to have a baton style weapon. It's officially called a "War Hammer". The Mark 4 was used in Infinity War and was crushed when Thanos used the Space stone to crush it with Rhodey inside. It was the first War Machine suit to feature a fully collapsible helmet like Tony's and Peter's suits. (It doesn't just open up, but it collapses all the way back into the back of the suit.) In the original Infinity War script, Rhodey was going to have PTSD from his fall in Civil War and was going to pilot the suit remotely from the Avenger's Compound. It was going to get destroyed while fighting the Black Order in Scotland. He would then replace the suit with the Mark 5 for the battle of Wakanda. The script was changed so Rhodey never fights in Scotland, and they used the Mark 4 for the Wakanda battle. As a result, we never get to see the Mark 5 in any of the movies. The Mark 6 is used by Rhodey in End Game while he's travelling around the world looking for Clint and helping with problems around the world after the snap. It gets destroyed when the Avengers compound gets blown up by Thanos' gunship. (Canopy canopy canopy) It looks closer to the Marks 1-3 armors, where the 4, 5, and 7 armors are significantly more bulky and durable. And finally he has the Mark 7, which he gets into after his Mark 6 is crushed by the building. He emerges with Rocket on his shoulder after Giant Man pulls them out of the rubble of the building. It's color scheme is a lot like the Iron Patriot design. The Marks 4 and 7 are my personal favourites.

I rewatched King Kong the other day, and realised how visually impressing it is for it's time! Please cover it!

Hey Corridor Crew, question: What do films do with the digital assets after a film is released?

I know this isn’t a thing to react to, but I think it would be incredible if Corridor could do their “we made x r-rated” on A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Restoring the original R rating of the Dollars trilogy would be the coolest thing ever.

As always a great deep-dive into the actual logistics of getting these movies put together. I've been wondering though, why are the voices in some episodes kinda difficult to understand? Especially Sean's audio had this weird, bass-y droning that sounded like he was talking into a trash can or something like that. I've noticed it a couple of times in the past, but not in every episode. I'm watching these episodes on a fairly cheap monitor with built-in speakers, so maybe it sounds better on high end devices, but I don't experience these issues with any other KZbin videos.

Wow, I never ever thought I would see my place of work in one of your videos!!! At 11:42 there is the avalanche we had some years back. I sit in the green building at this very moment! That was an awesome surprise this fine morning. We are a mining company in Norway at a place called Stjernøy, we trigger avalanches every year.

With modern marvel movies i feel like the actors always feel disconnected from the background. I miss the days when cg would enhance a practical background but now everything is straight up fillmed on blue/green screen.

This was especially evident (to me) in Civil War, Infinity War, and End Game.

BS as i guarantee you don't even know when it's practical and when it's cgi.

I think the evolution and use of the Volume is slowly changing that back now. Look at the cinematography of The Batman for example, some of those shots are incredible and just wouldn't have been as good if done on a bluescreen.
