Fun fact: I've been thinking about an engine with all game elements from the entire NSMB series (as well as a bit of custom stuff), and I think it was actually this particular video that gave me the idea to include a Coin Low Score on each level, in addition to setting Bronze, Silver and Gold Goals for the Coin High Score (obviously there would also be such a ranking for Low Scores, probably turquoise, blue and purple). And there would be a message once you have the "official" perfect Low Score for each level (as well as for getting Gold on each level).

I do. I did the Splatoon one and this one. As well as a few of my own, like Sonic Lost World without pressing the Run Button. And, as a bonus challenge, I also banned non-running actions triggered with the Run Button, such as flying with Green Hover and flicking the right paddle in the pinball machines.

Would be interesting to see. -No apples: tough like this game, but I don't see anything that would be make it impossible. -No spinning: Only a challenge in the first game as all the other games you can slide. -no breaking boxes: This would the really interesting one to see. Knowing him, he would make it so that you can't grab a single box, including checkpoints as they do count towards the counter. Same with TnT, though I'm pretty sure you are never required to break anything. There are places where it will be difficult dodging boxes.

Yppah Dalg true, I actually tried a tiny bit of this myself and found that no aku aku masks is actually quite difficult. You can’t grab them and if you die too many times you have to reset your entire run. Also there is one level where you must grab a special aku aku to light up the level.

Plus those dont count as actual masks, but thats just semantic and should count towards the challenge imo. Otherwise with good play, you 'should' be able to do all of these at rhe same time.

@@rexaskren4865 I don't really agree with cutscenes and/or scripted events (or ones you cannot avoid, at least) counting for challenge runs like this (with exceptions?), but either way it still didn't increase the (global) coin counter

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's impossible. Several games, including Crash 1, have a giant wall of boxes that can't be avoided. However, I have successfully beaten Crash 2 without collecting Wumpa Fruit, and Crash 3 with only the Crash 1 moveset. The former might also be possible on Crash 1, but I have yet to test it.

The farthest you could get would be, I believe, The Great Wall, because when you first get on the tree’s platforms there’s a wall like group of boxes that you cannot glitch around and you can’t jump through without breaking. It kinda sucks, actually

I miss the days when game developers rewarded you for being clever. My guess is that Naughty Dog playtesters had this idea first, and they used it as inspiration for how to plant the blue gem into CB2. Then people liked the yellow gem (speedrun) mechanic so much that it became the inspiration for the relics in Warped.
