@@imbatrossthescrub2096 Plus, you lose a lot of momentum doing that. You're basically just standing still with no bomb in your hand, no projectiles coming out. It's cool when it happens, but not something you'll typically see Link players actively pursue.

Charge shot DOES clanck with other proyectiles by the way, like bombs, but if charged enough, can go through arrows and boomerang.

@@Gerud0 I’ve gotten a bit more experienced with the game and I’ve gotten a lot of hate for my Link, they say he’s campy or he spams Nair and stuff but I think the reason people hate Link so much is because figuring out a strategy to be Link Nair or his projectiles can be a bit hard or they feel like they can’t set up whatever they wanna set up since they’re too focused on themselves and there character.

As an absolute pro with this matchup: Link NEEDS to use Crouch Hylian Shield, PLUS you need to keep the bomb on the floor more often when samus has charge, Samus Charge shot is transcendent? guess what. *so is the bomb*. lies on the floor and creates a WALL for any charge shot on the floor, forcing samus to jump charge shot.

It seems to me that sillintor just didnt know the matchup. When he finally started making adjustments it was too little too late.

Sillintor is a great link, but he really missed out on some pressure here with link's specials. Especially against another zoner, it's important not to let Samus charge the charge shot. Missed a lot of good out of shield options too. Like he seemed to not want to get locked into the up B on the ground, but it's such a good out of shield option and this Samus was very aggressive up close, could have definitely hit a couple times. Great matches though

Link's up b oos is very risky especially against someone like sisqui. if it misses he gets punished extremely hard so I understand him not wanting to try it

Hey Sil, don't forget, walking is very strong in this machup because of Hylian shield! You block missiles and charge shot. Samus then is limited to grab and dash attack on the ground which both lose to spot dodge. It doesn't guarantee you the match obvi, but it will make her play differently. GG!

This is a great example of how not to play Link. The bomb is not as good as people think. Look at how T plays Link if you want to see how the character is properly utilized in a tournament setting. The Link meta has unfortunately developed in the wrong direction for years now. Your fancy little bomb setups might work on ELITE smash, but not in a tournament setting.
