This is interesting to me. I'm 53 now and was playing video football as a teen in 1983 with the Mattel Electronics Football II. At the time, that was considered state of the art - not only were the players just blips on a screen, but blips were just one color and didn't even resemble human beings. By the early 2010's, the quality of video football was so good you could watch the video game and virtually feel like you're watching an actual game on TV.

05 is the last one that I bought until 17. Was very disappointed with 06 and the introduction of the QBs vision mechanic as I felt it just made it too gamey. And then I didnt see any realistic improvements aside from graphics after that. I got 17 for my son because he wanted a football game but I've only played a handful of games on it. It still doesnt hold a candle to 03 which is imo the best they made.

Yep. I was pretty good too. I remember catching a pass once and doing a spin move, to fake out my friend, and then running it in for a touchdown. Another time, I played way off the receiver, so that the QB would throw it to him. Then I jumped the pass and got a pick 6.

I miss the radio announcer they used for a few games (such as 07 and 08). It felt way more dynamic and the announcer would get genuinely excited when you made big plays.
