I rode the Canadian from Vancouver to Toronto towards the end of 1989. In fact the train hit TO at about 5pm on Boxing Day. With my backpack, duffel bag and 2 or 3 suitcases (I don't recall which anymore) I was one overburdened and awkward heap trying to make it through the Boxing Day shopping crazed mass of protoplasm that formed a throbbing wall trying to block my way up Yonge St.. I was home but home was Hell. Still, during that train ride I had the most beautiful and relaxed Christmas of my life. A train is not only a way of transporting you from A to B, it's all about the journey and not the destination. A never to be forgotten experience. And my personal cabin was unbelievably luxurious, as were the meals (which were prepared out of fresh ingredients and not just microwaved TV dinners of the kind they feed you when you fly). It just so happened that the winter of 1989/1990 was a record breaker in terms of temperature (or lack thereof). During a brief stop in Winnipeg I went out to get a newspaper. At -40 C. or a bit less, I could certainly buy a paper but, taking into account the windchill, I'd have become a statue if I had stayed outside to read it. The windiest intersection in Canada? I'd vote for that!

Vancouver has been the superhero capital of Canada since hosting the 2010 winter Olympics by creating a lateral entry program for superheroes from all over the country Canada wide that are interested in relocating to bc and establishing Vancouver and the lower mainland as their base of operations for example Winnipeggers prefer Vancouver as their base of operation because of the warm weather in bcs lower mainland superhero and Vancouver is the first city in Canadian history to create a lateral superhero entry program and the 2010 winter Olympics and being the superhero capital of Canada will always be part of Vancouver's history

I took this train going the other way, to plant time capsules across Canada. Somewhere around Calgary the engineers 'arrested' me for desecrating'' train property in their 'locomotive court', and sentenced me to drive the train across the prairies. It was all a joke, but I got to toot the whistle and throw candy to the kids at the landings all across three provinces. It was the best arrest ever.

Agree ...music or choice does not appeal to everyone
@OntarioTrafficMan4 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Music is absolutely appropriate for a montage of scenery. This is supposed to be an easy-watching video, not a railfan trip. The background music doesn't need to be everyone's favourite, it just needs to match the visuals.

Actually I liked the combination of train audio with instrumental music, I thought it fitting
@constantinkwiatkowski19403 жыл бұрын
I always so confused, why such videos come up. Everything on those trains is plastic and old, you enjoy the panorama view for 5 mins and during the rest of the journey you think what is the stupid WiFi password. Sure, the little part before Vancouver is great and nice to watch, otherwise the landscape is quite boring. The worst thing of that journey is the food and the drinks. Everybody says it is so good but it just looks fancy. It tastes disgusting and it is not organic. Comparing to other train rides such as first class in Japan or the Orient Express, this ride is really disappointing. Never, never again. That ride was a waste of money and lifetime. Thanks

Good Video but here is a news flash it does not take 5 days from Toronto to Vancouver by train and you keep saying it does why would you lie to people. If you want more people to connect to your channel you got to stop lying but i guess you think it is ok to lie. You deserve all thumps down cause you cant tell the truth
@MatchaAdventure4 жыл бұрын
If you include all the stops, it takes a minimum of 4 nights to reach Toronto. If you’re lucky, your train will be “only” 12 hours late. Being 24 hours late is not unheard of.
@dguido114 жыл бұрын
@@MatchaAdventure lol it takes 3 days who are you fooling i have done that trip many times before but like i said if you cant be honest in your videos then people will not sub to your channel and as far as im concerned you dont deserve the subs you have and hope no one elses subs to your channel. It does not take 5 days but i guess once your a lair you always will be
