Vibe Monsoon sub woofer upgrade

Fill all voids, but do not overpack it, leave it somewhat fluffed. For teardown of the back hatch area check out my other video on adding sound deadening, which shows more highlights of removing the interior.

I know this video is 10 years old but I was curious if you knew what the black wire harness is hanging on the right. I have it on my car and I’m not sure where it plugs into. Does it just stay unplugged like that?

Yeah I wish it was 8" as well, I bought a 6.5" sub to replace the stock woofer I hope it fits.

dampening helps more than polyfill. Poly does not absorb, it just slows down the wave creating an effect like the sub is in a larger enclosure, producing deeper bass. The dampening lowers the resonant frequency and does way more for that annoying resonance than that polyfill.

Once you get the box, I suggest trying some of the items listed on the Genvibe.com site to tame the box down. Overall the stock woofer box works well. I wish they had made it an 8" setup instead of the 6 1/2", would have been more efficient and able to go lower.

Would this trick work for the monsoon sub in my hummer h3? Also is it possible to swap out the sub and keep all the same box/amp/ect ?

I've got a non-monsoon Vibe but I'd love to put a sub in the same spot... any idea what the part number is for the panel? They're super hard to come by. I managed to find the enclosure but not the panel...

+Tylen Smith Not sure on the panel number. All those I know who upgraded, just found the items at a local auto salvage yard or Craigslist.

One pound bag. For the money, if you have other speaker projects, the 5 pound bag is the better buy
