That voice, that hair, that beard, those eyes (if he'd looked up at the camera you would've seen how BLUE they are).. Michael McDonald set many a heart aflutter back in the day. The hair is now completely white but he still has the same effect. The Doobie Brothers were already wildly successful before he joined the band & of course the hits streak continued with him. And he continued to have hits later in his solo career. For earlier Doobies check out "Long Train Running" ..."China Grove" & "Jesus Is Just Alright".. Huge hits with the great Tom Johnston as lead singer, very different from Michael but very popular beloved songs with his voice out front. "What A Fool Believes" & "It Keeps You Running" are hits with Michael singing lead. You'd love 'em! 💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙☮💙 Btw, a lot of these 70's live performance are from TV shows. Studio audiences were asked to stay seated & not be noisy as the show would be broadcast. They weren't being unenthusiastic, just going by telecast standards.

There are is a song by Michael McDonald live and both his sisters sing background, eldest is Maureen and youngest is Sara who is an M.D. but the family raised with jazz and Gospel got Michael to where he is today.
