@Swampy Best way to own newer model vehicles with minor damage and easy repairs paying a lot less for them. I've currently own a 2017 Chevy Impala LT that had 29,000 miles when i bought it. The car was stolen and only thing they took out of it was the seats and dash. The guy i buy them from just took the interior from another 2017 Impala LT and put it in mine and i only paid $10,481 after taxes. I've never had any issues with any rebuilt title cars with reliability or anything from the guy i purchase them from. I currently have 71,903 miles on it after 1 1/2 years of owning it. He mostly buys them with front end,rear end damage with no structural damage,engine damage, and very low miles to ensure they run smooth.

@@DarkenedSilhouette Well that is correct, there is a risk there, but making the vehicle (easily) fixable by the owner (or a third person) makes the car more attractive to the customer and therefore should increase sales. It means that the vehicle has been damaged and/or deemed a total loss by an insurance company that paid a claim on it. Do you not understand that it can be dangerous to drive? Regardless of the current condition of the car, it can still have problems that the "mechanic" looked over.
@user-ut8zq8ie1w
@user-ut8zq8ie1w 4 жыл бұрын
Churro Mushroom hundreds of salvaged vehicles can run better than a clean title. It doesn’t take a genius to deem a car safe or not. An insurance claims a vehicle salvage is mostly due to its “high cost to repair” that companies don’t want to fork out. Its selfish of a company since you’re paying them for insurance.

Older Renault’s. 1990s fords 1990s John Deere. New Holland’s. Fendts.All bullet proof tractors. And no emissions bullshit. And they all can be nearly fixed with a vice grip. Its come to a stage we are importing tractors from all over Europe. Even damaged repairables. Older tractors will forever hold money and there ground. It’s bizarre to think a 25 year old tractor is making more today than what it was sold for new. Limited edition models like what in my profile pic are just stupid money.

This is why several states have proposed “right to repair” legislation. Tesla isn’t the only one who does this kind of thing. I work in the construction industry and since diesel powered heavy equipment has all gone to the tier 4 exhaust systems, a lot of the manufacturers have made it really expensive and difficult to work on their stuff. How they control it is when a failure occurs the machine displays a code, to interpret the code you’re forced to go to an authorized dealer so they can hook it up to their proprietary software. The manufacturer will then threaten to void the warranty if you attempt to use an independent repair shop and/or aftermarket parts. Good for this guy for doing what he’s doing. Support right to repair legislation.

@@SweetSpotMusical Well not in the US. Voiding your warranty just for opening the product or using aftermarket parts is forbidden under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. If someone repairs or modify one of their cars and something happens like the car battery blows up or the computer ends up locking the driver at 60mph causing a crazy crash nobody is going to hear the facts that it's because of a faulty repair from a 3rd party shop. All they will see is it was a Tesla vehicle and something went wrong. Less people will buy your car because they heard bad news about it. This guy is repairing basically totaled Tesla cars. Imagine if the wrong people start doing this to soly profit like used car lots. They will repair the car not knowing exactly what's wrong with the car and repairs it. Tesla should just certify the guy and let him open up a shop. It's a win-win for everybody.
@SovietButcher

Not for Tesla. He clearly wants to fix cars. Tesla, like Apple, don't want you to fix old models, they want you to tell the customer that it would be more expensive to fix it than to replace it so that they can sell you a brand new product for top dollar. If Tesla has certified repair shops they'll just do like Apple. Not allow the repair operator to actually repair 90% of the issues and have the repair operator tell the client to go see Tesla and Tesla will tell them that they're better off buying the new updated model. This is the sillicon valley tech way, if it's broke, don't fix it, replace it. The fact that he can't order a new battery for a car because the VIN number of the car is blacklisted (probably because he bought it used/fixed up a wreck) is telling about their business practices.
@rohanpingle4062
@rohanpingle4062 4 жыл бұрын
@@SovietButcher makes sense. However, a giant like Tesla will never let anyone do this unless they have the business ethics that allow it. So, yeah. Let's just hope this guy somehow manages to get a shop open in some way, shape or form.
@SovietButcher
@SovietButcher 4 жыл бұрын
@@rohanpingle4062 What they want and what is legal are two different things. Apple doesn't want unauthirized repair operators to work on their products. The law states that people can. Tesla doesn't want to have independant repair shops work on their vehicles because then people will realize that they're getting a shit deal when dealing directly with Tesla. Tesla wants to be Apple, they want you to be entirely dependant on them for anything and everything that relates to the product you purchased off of them. This is a terrible business practice that would have been unthinkable just 60 years ago. Could you imagine if 60 years ago, when you bought you car, the dealership told you that you would not be able to change the sparkplugs yourself? Or that if ever you needed some work done on the vehicle, that you had to bring it into a repair shop operated and owned by the manufacturer and that they actually reserve the right to repair your vehicle? You can bring your vehicle in to replace a part and they'll tell you that seeing it's 3 years old, they won't work on it and you should just buy a new one. Today people are complacent with big companies; your television's broken? It's ok, just buy a new one. Toaster died? Why pay $10 to fix it when you can get a brand new one on sale for $9.99, I mean, it'll only last 1 or 2 years but you saved one whole cent! Ever notice how there are no more TV repair shops? Or any appliance repair shops for that matter?

Had a friend who has a Tesla that got in an accident. It took nine months for Tesla to make the parts and then have a certified shop do the work to get the car back on the road. He had to buy another car while the Tesla was down. That is crazy !!! No way would I ever put up with something like this. I am so happy for Rich and wish him well. He has a real struggle ahead but he is smart and tough and I wish him well on this venture.

This was a good watch. It's pretty sad that the organization is even called Tesla. Nikola Tesla was not a very corporate kind of guy; he was against greed and selling out. His dream was to provide wireless energy/electricity to everyone, for *free* .

You're mistaken if you think Tesla is a company about greed. If anything, Tesla is decreasing it from the automobile industry by forcing other companies to innovate much better cars for a cheaper price

Why would people, especially in the US, discourage intelligent people by addressing them as “crazy”? It’s ones aim what he/she should do things out of the box. One should go what he needs to do. Period. Hats off to him for getting things by himself.

@@timhallas4275 @Tim Hallas Lol. With your logic, no one should ever try anything because of the dangers involved in doing them. That's a life of regret for not having attempted to do what you had in your heart and mind to do. If you watched the documentary, you would have heard him clearly state that he is aware of the dangers, and he takes the necessary precautions. Most everything in life involves taking risks. Marriage, being an electrician, an HVAC Tech, a plumber, a firefighter, a police officer, even driving to work every morning. You never know what vould happen to you on any given day. So should we all just stay home because we might get killed by a stray bullet, or some negligent driver? Oh, and practice makes perfect. You can't get good at something if you never attempt it. So while you're saying that his repairs are halfass, he's fixed how many Tesla cars that are now running? There's always someone that will hate on someone else's successes.

I use the word crazy as a positive word all the time. my family hates that word because they believe that its 'bad' but I say it so much now how im crazy you’re crazy etc etc, mocking them in a way where I basically desensitize the word. They also like to have this public image of 'we're normal' or something like that. 🤷‍♂️
