What gets me is how the Christians claim to want “religious freedom” and are angry against “religious persecution”, but look at prosecute any religion or non-religion that is not their own. Actually, I was told that until not long ago Norway was one of the European states with the strongest ties between church and state, to the point that the king was the head of the church, like in England. If you want to find a state that has a serious separation from the church I think in Europe it would be France. Though I guess the most church-free state of all times was the Kingdom of Italy in its first decades, where all members of parliament and government were automatically excommunicated by the Catholic church.

The reason the early church pulled so much from Paganism was specifically to help in the conversion (sometimes forceful or sometimes not, usually both) of other religious peoples of the time, including Pagans. TL:DR - Yes, he's certainly well read and what he's saying has much more merit than saying Christianity is absolutely unique and original. Because, in fact, it is not. Days of the week and holidays like Christmas either have direct Pagan origin or are situated very close to Pagan holidays on purpose.

Being agnostic, I believe it's just plain wrong to use the Devil as a monumental symbol since the "Devil" is the embodiment of evil and the "occult" which many horrible things have come from. So though I am an agnostic, I have nothing against any moral religion except Satanism. It's just plain logic, why support a symbol of evil? A satanist that says they don't do anything evil is just plain absurd, since Satan is evil itself. There are many ways for him to fight for what he believes, but to use Satan as their symbol is like using Ted Bundy, except worse. Even if we say that the Devil does not exist, he represents every horrible and cruel thing that has come from evil and inhumane occult rituals in honor of him.
