@Michael Maddox, when i first saw the title i was a little suspect, but i reserved judgment to the end. My sincere and honest opinion is, these people found a place where they are happy, safe and at least living out some of their dreams (the one lady wanted to be dancer, at this place she is), so i guess my only criticism is the Dorms and them not being allowed to actually form adult relationships and all that comes with it. The rest good for them, and who are we to judge.

Treat them as abnormal human? Wouldnt that make them more sad and not actually help their happiness and cause? Also, wouldnt they also feel burdened and sad? Would it be pandering of me to say that I found this documentary to be cute? Not because of the fact that they're little people, but moreso because they've found a way to thrive and be successful and overcome so much. I can see that people could view this park as demeaning but you can tell that these people are extremely happy and content. Maybe it's a bit of a bubble, but it doesnt' seem like they mind. I really enjoy how unbiased this was because you got the impression they went into it wanting to show a negative story but turned out to be the opposite.

I know China. My wife is Chinese and I used to live and work in China for several years- I can tell you that it is better for these little people to live there. I remember one day, I was with my niece who was around 13 and we met a very small man who was asking money. My niece told him that he must dance and sing to get money. I get angered with her explaining that you cannot treat people this way. I gave the man some money and had a conversation with him apologizing for my niece behaviour. He told me "No, don't apologize, your niece is nice and lots of people are usually not that nice with people like me, making jokes, petting, and other things...…" So, I think that they are fine in this place, where they can share time with other people suffering from the same conditions, making money and having a great social life. If I was a Chinese small person, be sure I'd really prefer living there.

Those of them that are able to have children will have kids, and those that can't are surrounded by others that are also unable to reproduce, there's nothing wrong with this. ***** It is controversial because there is the idea of integration. That means everybody even the most severely disabled have a right and should have a chance as well to live a normal live fully integrated in a normal society. It is a nice dream but who ever belives it is true in even the most advanced society is cheating on himself. It is not, maybe it could become true in some ideal society in a distant futue but today it is not. Man they did not even solve the problem of racism yet. Some people are kept from getting into certain jobs because of the colour of their skin or their cultural backgrounds, not just because they cant reach the higher storage areas. It is an idea of equality that has become an obsession. Why do people have to be equal if they are happy with being special. The idea has even become an excuse for imperialism like they don't pray to the same god as we and they are not eating at McDirt and drink black suggar sirup, we have to free them and make them equal.

@jesicad.6853 жыл бұрын
When it comes to having children, there's a difference between the two types of dwarfism. Women with disproportionate dwarfism don't typically have troubles with pregnancy. That condition mostly affects the length of a person's limbs. Trunk size is usually fairly average and the condition doesn't affect hormones. The young couple both have proportionate dwarfism, which is caused by problems with the pituitary gland. It's becoming more rare due to the fact that it's curable if treated early, but as explained, their families were poor and they did not receive the proper treatment. This type of dwarfism causes a lot of issues that would make pregnancy difficult if not impossible due to hormonal imbalances. Women with proportionate dwarfism may not be able to ovulate, or if they do become pregnant, their body simply can't regulate hormones well enough to carry a fetus to term. And yes, there can be difficulties based on size as well since it's not just the limbs that are smaller. If a pregnancy does manage to advance far enough, an early C section is typically required.

Thats a good question. I would be more comfortable with this theme park if each worker had their own private dorm. They all just seem stuffed into close quarters. Perhaps the available living space is just an option, freely given on top of the paid monthly wages. They are free to live elsewhere if they want to, but choose to stay because its free rent. Also, sexual relations might be prohibited because it is a population composed of workers. It is a business, after all. I doubt disney theme parks would condone rampant sexual relations, even during the employees down time, on company property, regardless of relationship status.

Sarah Makarem when she asked the couple what do they like about each other they answered like they where 10 years old not like adults. I think because they’ve always been treated like children they have not matured to where they would be if they were not little and if they were in the world like most are, dealing with everything on their own. I worked with a little person here in the states. She was married to a normal sized man with normal size children. She was a “normal” adult, just little. Michele Simms I wondered about that. The way her voice sounded. In TV specials I have seen it is extremely rare. 🐯

I think this is a wonderful place for them. Why? Because they seem to be very happy. A zoo is where animals or living, breathing beings/things are held against their will. This is nothing close to a zoo. This place actually gives these little people confidence and that's all that matters.

I don't disapprove. It gives them a place where they can be normal and happy, and they're free to come voluntarily.
@Paretozen9 жыл бұрын
Oliver Morland yea voluntarily because of where they came from they are being frowned upon and looked down on. In fact, they are probably chased away from their family and home because of that. Sure they are happier in that park as an attraction. But if they would just be accepted and treated like everyone else, I'm pretty sure they rather stay where they grew up and with their families and friends.

So as long as they're not being abused or deprived of anything, it's hard to find fault. I hope they can periodically go visit their families though, with no problems or issues. Hate that they can't have kids...😢😢😢

It's really sad, but i hope so too that they could visit their families with no problems

It depends on their type of dwarfism. They can still have children, there’s just a risk. So in China, they probably don’t recommend it at all.

The laws in China forbid them. That's why. And you can see it makes her sad.

@@darklight8675 the ban on reproduction the Chinese now report they have a severe decline in population and they lifted the ban. So there is no reason they should not be able to have children. If it is medically dangerous and the place they are living doesn't want to have children and families there, then they have a right to leave. But if the government bans it then it's unkind.

I see nothing wrong with this. They're so happy. And they love being together with/in a community of respect.
