It is not that simple, the biggest pillar supporting the Syrian fascist regime is a coalition of minorities mainly Alwaites, Christians, Druzes, Ismailites.. because those communities know well what atrocities and oppression by the Muslim Sunni arab majority in an Islamic Republic ruled by shariaa, I also have a Syrian friend who is pro regime and his explanation is either us or them, or we would rather have no Syria at all then leave it to sunnis who will expell us from our homes slowly and steadily.

@@gostavoadolfos2023 I mean if Saudi Arabia accepted many migrants who are non-Muslim Whom many are treated decently and if there have already been rights to them and if the Ottoman empire gave rights to Christians same with the Abbasids and Umayyads then i don't think that the ''Evil Muslim Sunni Arab Majority'' are going to kill and expel everyone who isn't like them also Sharia not ''Shariaa'' is literally Islamic law that was made by Muslim scholars in 9th or 10th century entirely based by the Quran, Hadith and Sunnah not anything else, i mean it basically tells Muslims the instructions on how to do Ablution, how to pray, when and how to give Charity, When to Fast and What is Halal (permitted) or Haram (prohibited) now of course it includes things like on how to rule or how to manage the economy it is also technically a judicial system and btw it gives rights to Christians and Jews as long as they pay their taxes if they are wealthy enough to pay taxes or if they are: Woman, Children, Old, poor and of course sick then they're not obliged to pay these taxes only middle or upper class Healthy Men pay them and the reason why they have to pay taxes is because Muslims have another type of Tax designated by the Quran which is basically giving 2.5% of your wealth to charities or to the needy or as support to the State Yearly and even for that you need a specific amount of Wealth that you would accumulate over a year which other non-Muslims don't so it would be fair to make Muslims pay what they have to as according to their faith and to make non-Muslims also pay up and btw this money will not only help the needy but also support military campaigns build libraries, mosques and Churches as well Hospitals which technically started in the Muslim world and first Continous University started by a Muslim women who is not secular and is very pious in the middle 9th century in Morroco. So if your saying that Sharia is evil then i guess all the Muslims especially those in the US raising 100's of millions of dollars yearly by Charity and Zakat which is commanded by the Shariah are evil or those who help a injured dog or any animal in general as commanded by The Shariah evil as well then i don't know what your perception of evil is also your literally calling the Sunnis as evil who btw account for 80-90% of all Muslims are all evil i mean i am Sunni Arab and half Syrian, half is Palestinian since my father is Palestinian and my mother is Syrian and your basically calling me a person who has been nice to every Muslim and non-Muslim i ever encountered as evil and you might think i am a exception because i might be ''Secular'' well if i am Secular then that means that i believe in a state that has nothing to do with religion that is basically separated from religion and is governed by liberal Values so all the Sinful stuff like Adultery, Alcohol, Some recitational drugs and Gambling are allowed and a person is allowed to say whatever he wants no matter how bad or evil it is and everyone is allowed to be un-modest or i might be Secular by belief like a Muslim that is non practicing like i don't fast or pray or fast or give Zakat when i can then that would of course make me a Kafir (non believing Heretic) which i don't believe in nor do i want to believe in since i am religious and i am a god fearing person so please keep your Liberal secular propaganda elsewhere its tiring dealing with some consumerist Materialistic, Godless, Secular and spoiled Westerner you get fed stuff by the west and that so called ''Friend'' clearly comes from a Family of Haters i mean my friend is a Christian ''ARAB'' yeah those exist so no Arabs are not evil whether Muslim or not nor are they entirely Muslim as according to you and also that friend Syrian Arab Christian friend always goes to Syria he tells me that kids in the neighborhood near his home in Homs are a bit aggressive but he never complains about discrimination and btw he lives in Abu Dhabi (just like me), a city in the UAE which is the country that has City of Dubai and btw this country applies the evil ''Shariah'' yet Christians make up around 10% of the population who are entirely immigrants since this place never had any Christians well prior to discovering Oil and becoming a Wealthy nation that is a hub for migration so yeah a lot of Christians entirely Migrants live there and churches built for these Christians in what you call ''Evil'' Country that applies Shariah also country is mostly Sunni as well yet a lot of Shia Persian Migrants coming from Iran and some Shia natives within the country are not discriminated upon and (no Surprise) the Christian Arab in my class is treated by the Majority Muslims in my class (including me) a really good treatment no discrimination or hatred unlike how a Arab or even Muslim student would be treated in America most of them go through discrimination sometimes by the country or students or teachers of neighbors and more.

When I tell you when he started talking about that child it literally brought tears to my eyes bruh. Smh. The things we take for granted, man. And what's so sad, even though we hear about stuff like this happening all over the world we really don't care enough to actually do anything unless it happens to us personally. Then and only then do most of us get active. There's a quote that goes something like "the people who do nothing are as bad as the people who commit the crimes." These type of stories never get easier to hear. May Yahuah help us!

do anything? What do you want to do, go to syria and tell the president this is happening and he should stop doing that? Tell the hospitals they should stop doing that, the military? This reminds of the sonderkommandos in the death camps during the Nazi-Era, specifically Auschwitz. We can’t blame them for digging these mass graves and for herding people to their deaths. They had to do this for survival. Some might say that “you would’ve had to just kill me” but man they don’t know and I don’t know. My heart goes out to this man and countless others forced to dig and fill mass graves.

People who say, “you would’ve had to just kill me”, are not thinking about these men and how much they loved their families. Are you really going to leave your daughters and wife to be victimized by these monsters all around you? You have to become a monster as well. You have to try to remember what it’s like to be innocent and loving and you have to hope you can still be human enough to guide your children when it’s all over. Until then you are at the mercy of the tremendous evil that has occupied your country and is turning men and women into demons. It’s literally survival. Also, the truest test of integrity. Are you willing to sacrifice yourself for your brother?

@@casperchristensen6451 Even in 2005 it had all those cultural elements and deep historical roots, the regime was still brutal agaisnt any opposition but that is different from repeated rocket attacks and shelling in the town square. The destruction from the war itself is immense. This is why Syria is a difficult issue. The regime itself was, as we can see in the video, clearly evil but the revolution against the regime produced more destruction than existed under the regime. Also Raqqa was intensely shelled by the United States while they were besieging the town when it was under IS-control. The Pentagon said the Marine unit used more mortar muntions than any other unit since the Vietnam War.

Well, THAT'S called PTSD my friend. I hope he finds peace. Edit: oh God it just keeps getting more horrifying. I feel bad saying I have ptsd from childhood abuse in the face of prison babies being eaten by dogs and wasting away to 77 lbs. At least I had food, and I kept my sisters safe so i didn't see any bodies. I feel like those assholes who go around saying they have ptsd cause their dog died of old age or something. The comparison is equal in our cases here.

The suffering is so hard to observe when you're so powerless to do anything. Years ago, I stopped buying cards for people, instead I go to a charity (I think the ones I do most often are UNHCR and Plan International) and I'll buy something there. You can buy a coat for a refugee kid for like $10. They get a bit pricey, like I've bought family first aid kits and other stuff for around $100-250, it depends. But they create a card for you. So you can print or send this card, but instead of the money going to Hallmark or something, it goes to kids and families and refugees. It's a very small thing to do. I don't feel like I'm achieving anything big with it. But the idea that giving someone I love a gift and with the card, giving someone something they really need, just makes me happier than just giving the gift. If you read this, maybe consider it? I mean, a card is like $6, so why not make it $10 and get a kid a hat and coat for winter or something. There are affordable options. Why not do something good with the card money while still getting a card? Like I said, it's not moving mountains, but I mean, if we all did this, it could.

Every time you hear a local legislation try to reduce the amount of people allowed into your country, people fleeing from horrible things outside of their control. We should think of this. These people are just as needing and worthy as yourself and if you lived in a horrible place that you didn't feel safe in, you would run too. Immigration is a complex issue, but there will never be a time when land is stolen from ppl so they run or people are persecuted for who they are (LGBTQ, their religion, or their race). If we have a piece of bread, we can share it. I feel for this man and all people used in these horrible crimes and used with no regard for their well-being. If you're someone in a situation like this. Being asked to do something horrible. Find a way out. Find people who care and see you with humility, don't let them use you. You can find a way.

visualize the bodies of your loved ones. their faces. the body of the person you love. The love of your life, your children, your mother. the body that you held, the head inside of wich were her thoughts, her personality, the emotional and physical intimity you shared with that person. Her eyes, her smiles, the warmth of her body, her voice... imagine that magical thing, that marvelous and most precious thing, that being suddenly killed, obliterated for the most absurd reasons, for the most cynical and nihilistic reason. a reason so impersonal, so unspecific to the person you loved. Imagine their bodies being utterly destroyed, piled up, left to rot, whithout dignity, throwed into a pit, without any respect, without tenderness, without the infinite love you want them to be treated with. In the hope that the world will forget them. And you'll never know where that body, the body so mistreated but so precious of the person you loved and who was taken from you, has been hidden. And the earth resumes its journey. and the rest of the world will never know.
