I was a bartender for a long time, and this doesn't feel too different from that. I had regulars who were divorced and lonely. They'd buy me drinks and tip well. I'd ask about their kids, and listen to their problems. It's a transactional relationship, but that doesn't mean you don't care. And you do get attached. I was very touched when some of my regulars reached out during the pandemic, when the bar I was working at was closed. Checking in, making sure I was ok. Service industry, whatever service you provide comes with a lot of emotional labor. If you're good at it, you either care a lot, or you're a psychopath and extremely good at pretending.

This is so true, it had me dying laughing because I am also a bartender. I think I am a psychopath though. I do have regulars that I care about but it is so emotionally laboring. By the time I get home I feel drained I don't have anything to put into my real life.

I mean to be honest, I hate to say this, but many relationships and marriages are essentially transactional. VERY RARELY do people like, GENUINELY care without either receiving something back in the form of money, attention, fame, status; etc. Most humans especially in today's world with little social interaction, CRAVE a sense of companionship and company so much they will pay for it, and I think many realize it's kind of an illusion, but most everything in life is an illusion when you really, sadly, think about it deeply.

@@trueorigins yy y is just being prejudiced, there and watched this in a simple way, first, as it was said, people could flirt differently from place to place, for example, a hug to greet a person who recently met, it's the last thing a Japanese would think about, on the other hand, I can see the parts yy y is talking about and she's flirting, it's not she's not trying to do it, she's actually doing it, like when she asked the host if it was on his hands, he'd choose her to host for her or when she says to the owner why we're sat that separated, that bit was a biased comment from yy y to make her look better. I saw one of these documentaries with a Japanese woman who visit those places and it was different to what happened on this, because they needed a translator, plus, the pauses to translate, so, things didn't flow naturally and we don't know if they told them, at least in the case of the hosts, that they had to do what they usually do during the interview, because, the owner just approached that as what it was, an interview about their job, a problem of language barrier, perhaps. The last one, Shingo, handled everything as she was doing and they wanted for this documentary.

Why do you think people invite others to celebrate something, why do they share their secrets with someone, why do they want people near them in their saddest moments or in their important days? Truth is, once women get to that point, where they’re lying down with someone willingly, beyond extreme deal breakers, i.e. body odor, obesity, humorlessness, etc., they pretty much will _backwards rationalize_ things they suddenly like about whoever is lying there with them, regardless of the specific dude. Even if a day before she expressed the exact opposite, like “I’m not into scrawny guys,” now it is “wow you have 0% body fat”. If he was chubby it would be the same deal. “Wow, you’re so cuddly and warm, like a teddy bear,” yada yada yada. Hilarious.

@ironcascade79216 жыл бұрын
I think it's mainly odd because, in Japan, their population is plummeting while the US pretty much stay in a pretty stable state. Yes, we do have strip clubs to fulfill our needs, we have gay clubs too and I'm pretty sure women go there too yet, like what I said, the population is considered normal, although the divorce rate in the US grew dramatically so... crap
@kiraveritas1646 жыл бұрын
Women can go to strip clubs too...there are strip clubs for women as well. Thus, this comparison is invalid. Also, wanting to cry with a stranger over a sad video is just strange. It's not a need, it's just a sign of a disturbed mind in my opinion.
@miracleshappen44835 жыл бұрын
I feel sorry for the boy hosts; they have to drink every night until morning. That's incredibly unhealthy and I'm pretty sure they can't have that lifestyle for long. Their life seems also very lonely and sad. The videos that the crying man showed are all from Thailand: I've seen them all and they are available on You Tube. My impression is that people are looking for love, no longer sex. Sex only lasts a few minutes and doesn't really give you any feeling of happiness especially if you are paying for it. However, being in the company of people and, for example, crying together, as the women in the video pointed out, gives you a feeling of togetherness or belonging: that's exactly the feeling that we have lost in the so called "civilized" society. We are longing to feel each other again and I think, in the end we will!

@@nicolapodgornik taking this at face value is a pretty common thing. If you can find it go watch "the great happiness space" It's a documentary about this sort of thing. Same as everything else, it isn't all glitz and glamour, there's always a quota to meet for the hosts plus you literally have to drink day in day out wether you want to or not on top of starting early and daily chores. By the time you're near 30 they turf you out because no one wants older men in that service. So you're out of a job with a fucked liver and kidneys. One of hosts in the documentary explains that while doing the job he got to a point of where he was playing a role that much for his job by the end of it he wasn't sure of who he really was, it impacted negatively on his view of women and as a result ended up unable to actually get into a realistic relationship and was lonely because of it. @@raeraeo3o3 One night stand is driven by sexual desires, so at least there is some activity. Here you just have to sleep next to a random guy 😅

How can the women not fall in love with the Sheep Boys?! That was the perfect interaction with a partner. I'm impressed by the skill and intention these men (Crying Boy too) put into their work.

Apoorva Krishniya I swear to god 😂😂 like the part where people cry together is kinda weird but cute and there's somehow a connection between them as they feel the same emotion towards a sad situation, *but the part where he wipes their tears? Was that necessary, like?*

As society pushes people to study more, work more, make more money, we are losing ourselves. Next we'll be buying happiness and watching the other person laugh and be happy as we are depressed, sad and dying for love, etc. And next, ROBOTS, CYBORGS and more DRONES. Yikes, humanity is dead?

Men and women. In fact it will start with replacing women first. Even now, women have vibrators and toys, but men have life-size love dolls with company’s presently working on animatizing said life-size dolls. Just sayin’.

imagine having repressed your feelings for so long, you need someone to give you permission to cry :/
@anneshirley953 жыл бұрын
I thought about that too. Having to pay for someone to pretend to care about you is really sad. Can you imagine how the women feel if that can’t afford to pay for something like this?
