Fun jokes until it's not. In 2008, during a blank fire demonstration a French soldier of the "3e RPIMa de Carcassonne" fired live ammo on the crowd injuring 16 peoples. The guys mixed real and blank ammo in the same magazine. So even with blank you sould always stick to the basic rules of weapons handling. Don't point at people you don't want to hurt.

The most hilarious story about the Vickers: In 1963, when the British were getting rid of them. They looked into the storage and saw they had tons of ammo. And a genius said: "lets shoot one until it brakes." And they did. For seven days and 7 nights straight. AND IT DIDN'T BRAKE. 5 Million shots fired. (They did change out the barrels and add cooling water naturally. Like they would do in war.)
