His teammates do not pass to him and don't even attempt fake passes because they would rather iso for whatever reason. I think it's because the NBA is the concentration of the world's top talent, but the Olympics dilutes that skill by spreading the NBA's best throughout lots of countries. Most of the competition would never have the ability to play in the NBA. So, Rudy and Schroder look even better than usual, because many of the people on the floor aren't their level. The gap is so big because lots of American NBA players are better than most of the foreign players and don't even show up in the Olympics because they're not one of the top 12ish. For example, Kyrie Irving isn't on team USA, but the gap between he and Schroder is considerable and in Irving's favor. Imagine if Irving played on the team France opposite of Schroder this game. Schroder wouldn't look nearly so amazing. This is not meant to disrespect Schroder. On the contrary, games like this show that Schroder is obviously one of the best in the world, demonstrating why he's in the NBA. It reminds me of Brian Scalabrine (a big, unathletic, low-level NBA player) saying, "I'm closer to Lebron than you are to me." If we're honest, there's a ton of truth in that for most of us. Much of the time, mid-level NBA players look like superheroes compared to their national teammates. I haven't looked at the stats, but I bet NBA players' usage rates in the Olympics is insanely high across all nations. Look how many of these possessions had the ball in Ruby's, Victor's, and Dennis' hands. And, if the game was closer, that would've only went up. Victor got a lot of rest time that he will not be allowed when playing against USA.

usually I am not a fan of hype and talking about the next goat. actually it is the first time I am saying something like this: If wemby will stay healthy he can become the G.O.A.T. Of course it is super early and anything can happen but him being such a human freak , with that skillset coming from a pro-sport family providing him the right mentality and mindset I dont see a lot of things that can stop him

I think there were legitimate questions about how he was going to provide #1 level offensive value if he were only elite at finishing, especially with how he likes to handle the ball away from the basket (so not in a position to offensive rebound), is highly unlikely to be the pure shooter KD is, doesn't have the paint touch of Jokic, and isn't strong enough to be a great screener or back people down and post up like an Edey. Playing bully ball like Giannis (exploiting how fluid / explosive he is for his size to just break normal defensive schemes driving to the hoop) might work, but would probably require him to put on a massive amount of weight which likely wouldn't be good for his health--and also seems like a waste of his talents considering how much better of a shooter he is than Giannis. Starting from about a month before the end of last season and continuing into the summer, he's done a very good job of addressing those concerns. Mostly cut out the midrange except when he's handed an end of possession bomb. Gotten massively smarter about how to use his handle (fewer, more precise dribbles that he can use in combination with his length to get to the rim in only a few steps). Clearly getting stronger so he can either get to his spots on the perimeter and force teams to actually put a center on him (dragging them out of the paint) instead of letting them get away with a wing, or get near enough to the basket that he can use his crazy wingspan to lay the ball in over multiple defenders once he gets past that center. But importantly, he's NOT packing on the amount of mass required to just barrel through double teams and finish through contact, which could shorten his career dramatically. He's also getting better and better at utilizing his height advantage and court vision to generate assists inside when teams are forced to put their center on him outside the paint, or pass to open shooters when he's doubled inside. He has angles available to him that literally nobody else does and he is starting to make full use of that. I initially questioned whether him having the ball so much was going to be a wise strategy given how turnover prone he's been, but I think I'm starting to be convinced that he's such a walking mismatch that it would be silly to use him any other way.
