And I just thought of LeBron and how he was thurst into stardom at such young age in an era where people were still realtively unaware of the perils of a celebrity lifestyle, where conditioning was not as advanced as it is now and how he handled and still handles himself - his life and career - and I have nothing but immense respect for the man. I am just in awe but this young man’s answers. To already have such an understanding of what truly matters in the world at such a young age. Will be hoping for good health and success in this next stage of his life. JJ’s reaction was the same as my own.. wise beyond his years. Can’t wait for the rest to come out !

One of the best interviews you done. you deserve all of the respect JJ truly understanding players, motivations, winning, what it means to truly win a championship. Truly breaking the mold of what it means to interview an athlete at the highest level of their sport.

Victor sounds like he's ready to get on the court right now tbh, gotta love it! Have to respect Redick for dropping some valuable knowledge and asking all the questions needed to challenge the kid. He seems unflappable, the new NBA season needed to start yesterday!

Man I can’t even imagine the level of pressure thats weighing down on him being so hyped up and the eventual/speculated 1st overall pick. I truly hope he comes into the league and rises to the level of everybody expectations and then some.

Duuudddeee. Can’t wait for this full episode. The kid is just amazing. Regardless of how good he will be, he is just different. As basketball fans we NEED him to hold up and not get injured. We need this star in the game we love. Damn it this is going to be amazing to watch.

Interesting part of the interview though have heard him interviewed in France. He puts on a hell of a lot of work and has been through a lot, just in the last year going from ASVEL to Mets92 a team that isn't going to survive because of money problems and won't be in the french league next season. Everything has been prepared around Wenbenyama for the NBA and he knows it with an enormous amount of pressure on him to perform. After years of preperation I think he knows he's arrived at a new milestone with new pressure beginning to start as all eyes will be on him when the NBA season gets under way. That's going to be another challenge, the biggest he's faced. Nothing but greatness will be asked of him and from game 1.

His “totem” is his authentic desire to succeed. Basketball is his way of expressing that. He’s also suggesting that, while many young players do have the skills and talent necessary to perform well, they’re missing the genuine desire to succeed, and they fall short. Respect.
