Spurs trading Vassell would be front office malpractice. He's hands down the most underrated player in the entire league. Like Chuck said. Some players only looks good on a bad team because they get to shoot more shots. Vassell is one of them that needs to be gone and never come back. Have you seen how visibly frustrated Victor is half the time Vassell takes some stupid wild shot. Dude is not efficient nor good enough at least for Wemby to be staying. Wemby needs a vet pg that can help him instead of stat padding.

When it's clear that we are at 4 & 8 in this draft, I hope Spur to make it happen: Magic get: Malaki + Graham + Hornet's pick Wizard get: Zach + No.8 pick + Bull's pick + 2024 Magic's 2rd pick Spur get: Isaac + Avdija For Magic, Every team knows they are a ticking time bomb. They have too many bigmen, and too many rookies to extend contracts in few years. Including Franz.W & Banchero's Max. Graham is good for their cap space. Also, we can help them with Hornet's pick for future talents, and Malaki for backup SG who can create his own shoot. That's what they lack in playoff this year. For Wizard, They are looking for another top 10 picks, no.8 pick seems a good addition. If they land Topic at 2, and get Clingan at 8, the starters line could be like this next year: Clingan/Zach Kuz/MB3 Bilal Pool Topic And still have 2024 1rd no.26 pick + Magic's 2rd pick. They may back to top 5 seeds again in 2025's draft board, Bull's pick will help them getting more advantages. For Spur, This season Wemby is often defending two or more guys at same time, he needs some help. Isaac can defend 1 to 5, Avdija has solid defense + sneaky-good ISO + a little bit playmaking. we will play swishing defense on front court sooooo well. Plus, we can also avoid Wemby losing stamina quickly. If we go lucky, we may have the starters line like this: Wemby Isaac/ Sochan/mamu Avdija/ KJ/Sidy Vassell Tre Plus our own 2024 1st pick to backup Even if we finally go for another PG with Hawk's picks, this kind of defensive starters line will make it more acceptable.

I was on board most of this video until the trade talks. He didn't mention a big reason for the Spurs potentially looking at Trae Young is that San Antonio has a bunch of Atlanta's picks for this year, so they could possibly get Young without having to trade a ton of guys like some of the other trade scenarios that were floated around. San Antonio's never been a super trade-heavy team either, so I'm thinking they're probably going to rely on the draft this year and, depending on what happens in this draft, play this season with what they have to work with. Pop has said multiple times he really likes his team makeup now, and has really enjoyed building around this team, I doubt they're going to want to trade the farm for Alex Caruso.

knowing what the spurs have been for the entirety of their existance, they will develop in the draft. They benefit negatively from moving too fast because this organization simply doesn't move fast with their players. Wemby maybe on the course of getting the largest NBA contract in history So having have the cap space is important ….. The Spurs season was spectacularly unspectacular, but I believed it served one purpose. Basically, they had the whole season to understand who Wemby is from a practical standpoint … What kind of system should be created What’s fits ? What doesn’t Basically a hundred questions…. I think this year , they have more answers……….

There’s a scenario - improbable, but possible- where the Spurs end up with eight picks (five FRPs, three SRPs) in the 2025 draft. Those picks are FR: Own, Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Toronto. SR Own, Chicago, New Orleans. At that point they seem to lose value and leverage, instead of gaining it. If Chicago, Charlotte and Toronto look like they’ll convey around the time of the 2024 trade deadline, I’d expect their big move to be at that trade deadline.

I think you keep Sochan and Vassell to play with Wemby. They just need to understand their roles- if they don’t trade them for guys who do. If they do understand their roles then you follow the nuggets model to build a roster like them. You have a dominant post player, Sochan can play that AG role. Vassell can develop be that 3rd/4th scorer. They need a 3 and D wing and champ is not the answer but a bench role player. KJ needs to get traded. Then you get a point guard who is a star.

My guts tell me that the Spurs will tank one more year for the 2025 draft. Even Manu Ginobili said in an interview that they won't be contending realistically until year 3 of rebuild. But the Spurs can build through the draft and surround their star with talent just like they did with Tim Duncan that keeps them as a top team that can win it all cor 10 or more years. Talent and picks, yes please.

What I'd like the Spurs offseason to look like: Sign Tyus Jones (3 years, 60ish mil?) Trade Keldon + 2 1sts to Brooklyn for Mikal Bridges Starters: Wemby, Tyus, Sochan, Bridges, Vassell Bench: Tre, Collins, Rookies, Branham, Bassey (when he comes back), Champagnie, anyone else I'm forgetting + any vets they add Both Jones brothers assure there's a high IQ ball handler in the game 48 minutes, Bridges can beef up both shooting and defense and be in a better role as a #2 or #3 option, young bench makes things interesting, still plenty of ways to pivot.

I think Devin is safe. He’s a young 3 & D with upside and he’s on a very affordable deal. I’m still not sure what to make of Sochan. The PG experiment at the beginning of the season really messed with his confidence and it was difficult to see how much he progressed as a result. His defensive versatility is a very valuable asset but he really needs to develop into more of a perimeter shooter to round out his game. Keldon Johnson is as good as gone. He’s peaked as a player and what he is just doesn’t work well with Wemby. Poor defender, poor passer, poor vision and court mapping. He’s a very good finisher at the rim and he’s got the girth and strength to finish through contact, but the bull in the China shop only goes so far.

I don't like any of these trade ideas. Frankly I don't think the Spurs would have to give up that much to begin with. Why? Because Keldon has one of the most team friendly deals of all time. I could see Keldon plus 5 second round picks plus 2 first. The Hornets pick and to be fair the Spurs 2025 pick. I think what the end of the season showed was a team figuring out their roles. Now, not completely but enough that I think their own pick will be in the back half of the lottery in 2025. Especially if they get Toronto's pick regardless their own picks.

Funny thing is NBA fans are all going to want Wemby to leave. If he leaves and immediately wins they will disrespect his rings saying they were easy just liek how they did to Kobe, If he stays like Carmelo Anthony and Damian Lillard they gon say he wasted his career and should have left after a season or 2. Nba Fans and media always have weird opinions and narratives and I wouldnt recommend listening to most of them because if you arent playing for their favourite team they are going to hate on you for no reason at all. Wemby should do whatever he wants.

Garland would indeed be a good fit, but they won't give too many assets now, as the team in at the very beginning of its timeline, it's too early. Sochan will stay for sure, Vassell may stay, Wmeby of course. All the rest is expandable. For the draft, if they're 1 or 2, they should get RIsacher (most NBA ready player in the draft, best D and one of the best shooters) or Sarr (best big man, highest ceiling, they need another rim protector). If they pick further, Salaun is perfect (and in my opnion has a better potential than Risacher). They can wait for another year to get their perfect PG, no rush, the Spurs are one of the best teams at sharing the ball.
