Victoria III Dev Diary 2 - Capacities

The second Victoria 3 dev diary introduces the concept of capacities with 3 types mentioned, Bureaucracy, Authority and Influence... While they are very similar to some Victoria 2 game concepts the way they are accumulated and their effect on the country is different.

I’m mixed on this because it makes sense for instability to vary across your empire and fringe colonies being badly administrated in Vic2 made sense.

Something I always liked about HOI4 is that you "pay" with industry and political power, there is no cash in a sense, it never made sense to me that country leaders would have to pay in gold for development. Hope this mechanics will have the same vibe to it.

It doesn't make sense for country leaders but it does make sense for countries to pay with cash, the industry abstraction makes sense in the timeframe of WW2 but this mechanic had caused serious headaches for modders who wanted to place the game in a different timeframe.

I know this is so random but can you help me with the error.log error? I finally just want to play HOI4 normally., And no I didn't get this while modding, I'm not a modder. But I saw the option nudge and I was like "oh why not do something" and I messed it up. Is there a way i can clear my cache that works or anything?, cause my map is messed up and it says "Some errors are present in the map defition and have been logged to error.log" The options are disabling my mods, or check the integrity of my files inside steam, Which I already have done that or try to clear my user directory from the launcher, I've also tried that and it doesn't work. We could continue this discussion anywhere, in the comments or maybe another social media, I have no idea how to fix it and you look like you could help to be honest.

@@seems_goodlol The path is the following: \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Hearts of Iron IV Just open any folder and paste this path in at the top and it will take you there. Delete everything in that folder but take into consideration that it will also delete your saved games but you can avoid that but deleting everything except the saved games folder.

I really hope smaller countries that aren’t being contested doesn’t take as much influence as it does in stellaris and imperator, and the annoying tug of wars full of clicks from Vic2 are replaced.

Im part of the Vic2 MP community, and we are dying bc of this shit, 9/10 active Vic 2 mp players have given Vic3 already up and some haven even turned full hater! I would argue rightfully so, this game doesn't seem like a successor to vic2 more like a new title.

If your going to argue no its not IT IS its not properly combined with the pop system and is thereby arbitrary additionally the base value from country modifiers shit railroads you so hard. I am excited to see how they will fuck up money (a form of many if you want to call it that) bc the entire gig behind money was that is so fluent and combined with the eco and the pops that it didn't feel arbitrary and could behave completely differently for every player according to their playstyle. The next thing is the community comment. We aren't hardcore you can join us any time but we want a real Victoria game and we know we aren't getting it with this BS so STFU!
