I really appreciate you pointing out that math and science are important. I found that most of my classmates in tech school realized this far too late. Vet med is not just a love of animals but also physiology, pharmacology, people and many other things.

I love your blog by the way your eyelashes look beautiful. you are so right I work with adults with disabilities sometimes it's harder to work with their loved ones then it is to work with them. I had no idea that dogs can have seizures until my dog was diagnosed a year ago. you guys do amazing work thank God for veterinarians and the nurses and staff that assist them.♡

I've always wanted to be a vet and today really showed me how far my passion goes. Today has been so heart breaking for my family. My cousins puppy has been very sick for a few days now and today my aunt rushed her to the vet because she got worse. They took her back for treatment but stopped when they heard she couldn't pay that very day. She told them she would have the money and pay it all Friday of next week but they refused because they wanted it now. My aunt 47 years old was bawling in the waiting room and begging them to help but they still refused. They told her and I quote "Take her to the Humane Society because they will put her down for free." My aunt then called more vet offices but they call refused as well. Unfortunately the poor baby died shortly after because she had Parvo and needed treatment fast but was not given any. My heart hurts so much that a place that was supposed to help animals cared more about money than one very sick baby 💔

Animal hospitals are businesses and pet owners are financially responsible for their pets. It's sad, but true. You might want to look up the suicide rate of veterinarians, the profit margins of animals hospitals, the debt veterinarians leave vet school with, the income vets/vet staff make (they aren't wealthy), and the issues faced by veterinarians from their clients (guilt tripping, blackmail, bribing, assault, cyber bullying, etc) before complaining like this. I'm a veterinarian. It's not wrong to charge for services, it's literally how all businesses function. During this pandemic, veterinarians have been overworked and booked solid all throughout the USA.

@lordjim246 жыл бұрын
You love your job because you're a girl who works in a female-dominated profession. 80% of vet med classes are now women. The field is growing more feminized. I shadowed at a vet hospital, and I was the only male in the building. One of the main reasons I decided not to go into vet med. More women go to college and graduate now. Women are encouraged and coddled and given awards every step of the way. Hell, I wish our society started giving a damn about males again.
@CJCheese6 жыл бұрын
Coming from a town that has pre-dominantly male vets, with the exclusion of my clinic-- your argument is invalid. Society has "given a damn about men" for hundreds of years and women were overlooked up until the 1920's, so take your misogynist comments elsewhere instead of bullying a female who is half your age, behind a computer screen. Sorry that you weren't successful in your veterinary endeavors, but don't go attack others because they actually made it in this profession and you didn't, Andrew. Also I fear for any woman that crosses paths with you in life, because you are going to be awfully lonely with that elementary and archaic mindset. Quit hiding behind a computer screen and get a hobby, dude.
@lordjim246 жыл бұрын
CJ, I don't hide behind a computer screen. I could accuse you of doing the same thing with your nasty comments. Nor am I a misogynist by any stretch. I am pointing out a fact. Veterinary medicine is now a predominantly female field, and there is little encouragement for more men in the field. Simply because your town happens to be an exception to the general trend doesn't make my observations invalid. Women have come a long way over the past century, which is wonderful, but I think I am still allowed to have my concerns as a male. In a way, there has been an over-correction in society in favor of women in veterinary medicine and other areas. Girls are now given more incentives and encouragement in STEM in general. I don't need to tell you that. Maybe the vet field will balance itself out. I hope it will. It is a field that can profit from both men and women.
@jjester1596 жыл бұрын
Speaking as a woman that has been in veterinary medicine for over a decade I have seen the progression of the field becoming more equally representated by both sexes. I have loved my job even when I worked with primarily men because I don't do this job for my coworkers. I do this for the patients.
