i just started eating intuitively after developing anxiety from tracking, not necessarily restricting. but now all i want is salad and vegan veggie bowls😂😂 it's weird how restricting can make you want really sugary foods, but when you release yourself cravings change🙃
@victoriagarrickbrowne4 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY!!!!! People think when you stop restricting you will eat only un-nutritious food, but it's not the case. I crave carrots, salads, fruits, etc.

Wat so when we got into quarantine i started exercising in my basement with some dumbbells and bands. and i downloaded a tracker app that told me to eat about 1700. then i started watching channels about modeling and one of the comments from an experienced model was like "just get obsessed with getting skinny!" so then i ate like 1400 for like a month and a half and after slowly increasing overtime and now i eat what i feel like🙂 i didn't have a disorder or claim to have one and my story wasn't even that dramatic but it was more mental

I actually think your bf IS an intuitive eater. The whole thing about learning how to eat intuitively is trying to get back to a place of naturally eating the way you used to before diet culture and food rules intercepted. So the fact that he can just eat what he wants without freaking out or overthinking things makes him intuitive!

I love this, thank you for uploading this. I have had an eating disorder since I can remember I also have dietary restrictions due to health stuff. However this is the path I've been going down. Changing my relationship with food and really seeing it as fuel. I actually started to enjoy it when I just ate what I wanted. I also switched to mostly lean meats because being mostly plant based for 5 years was not helping me. I was amazed with the switch I have so much more energy and feel vibrant. I started saying too, sometimes you just need to eat for your emotional body like something "bad" pizza etc. But it all comes down to moderation and listening to your body. You have such a happy soul and you're so healthy. It's really cool to see. I found your vid by complete accident. Sometimes my body just wants cold chocolate lol so why not give it what it wants? This is how you create a cohesive relationship with your body. I've been really working on not labeling myself didn't realize this applies everywhere like with labeling your foods good or bad. So that was super insightful to hear from you. Thank you for your wisdom. I have started telling people that health comes from doing what makes you happy.

2 minutes in and already subscribed. I have begun my ACTIVE recovery from my eating disorder. instead of kinda being in recovery with one foot out the door. i'm doing my version of intuitive eating which is a little more structured to ensure i actually eat all 3 meals + some snacks. this is because my hunger/full cues are totally off. i'm in a larger body and its hard for me to do this without ppl around me who understand that weight loss maybe shouldn't be a necessity for me.

I recently started my ANA recovery and trying intuitive eating and it slowly starts working but its still a work in progress to actually eat the amount of calories that I need (especially to gain weight still quite a way till it gets there) but still I'm proud how far I came and its so liberating to not think about calories 24/7 (now its like 20/5 xD) still subconsciously calculating (but not as obsessive) resisting the urge to burn of the calories by working out like crazy... And finally being able to enjoy food I always liked but wasnt allowed to :D You were a big inspiration in this thank you so much

How can you tell whether you’re actually hungry or you’re just bored?
@jamiem60884 жыл бұрын
That’s a though one and I think a bit different for everyone. I’d say take a moment to listen to your body. Is your stomach growling and giving you hunger cues? Or is your mind giving you the idea to eat? If your stomach is quiet and you have no hunger cues you’re probably just bored. If that’s the case you could do something else to keep you busy, like doing some stretches or walking the dog

you didn't use the pesto! haha. I've started to slowly listen to my body in terms of hunger. Even though I'm on a cut now and I have 1 or 2 kg left to lose, I've also began "intuitive eating" in a way. End goal is to let intuitive eating eventually take over and I stop counting calories and macros (though lately my macros have been on point with my choices so I stopped looking at those now). I think intuitive eating is the best way to live a good lifestyle and also have a healthy relationship with food which for me has been damaged for at least 15 years.

i’m really struggling with emotional eating lately and i keep telling myself last cheat day but the cycle just repeats over and over ugh does anyone have any tips on how to overcome this?
@Juliak04104 жыл бұрын
Alexa Moon I feel you. What works for me is letting myself eat something if I’m really craving it or I’m emotional, but eating just a little bit and checking in. So I stop myself after a bit and say, ok I don’t really want this anymore I’m just mindlessly eating it. Like I used to eat a whole bag of chips if I wanted chips but now if I want them I have a few and then go do something else. It’s okay to eat a few chips sometimes. Also you could find a new emotional activity. Like if I’m feeling sad or something, instead of eating I’ll make a friendship bracelet or watch a Disney movie or go for a walk or anything!!
