I love how Leopold doesn't even think about it, he just goes on about the Louvre and doesn't even realize that all these women are into him. The best part is he isn't trying to impress them or anyone, that is just his personality and that is why I love his character so much especially because Hugh Jackman plays him too.

every man should watch this movie like it's a documentary. This is what all girls want, to be treated the way he treats girls. they way he brings romantic creativity and such a real kindness. I want my man to treat me like this

Kate & Leopold is one of the last great romantic comedies. This movie proved that Wolverine was a great and versatile actor after all

Also one of the last big movies filmed in pre 9/11 New York. Definitely a key change after that.

Part of it I believe is us convincing ourselves we don't have any time. The way I see it, we don't make time to understand love, the other person we're with, or even our own intentions leaving so much room for the crushing of our fairytale expectations. Once that happens, we begin to settle, claw and scrape for any semblance of decency in a mate that we often look over noteworthy flaws. We need to ignore all the gossip and make our own dating rules. Listen to your hearts and be still.

So many woman settle because we're told that we're "difficult" or "picky" or "demanding" or other derogative words if we have standards - if we expect men to behave in a decent way like any other adult. It's infuriating.

I agree, people really NEED to make the time to get to know one another. A good relationship is always based on a lasting friendship.

Yeah, that's what men don't understand. I'm a man and have noticed that many men have no clue on how to behave around a woman. Many guys are like Charlie, they try to be funny around women. But women don't want a guy who "makes them laugh", I never met one who did. As Leopold said "No woman wants to be romanced by a buffoon." I have a humorous, comedic side, but I NEVER show around any girls/women. I'm never "funny", I'm always serious. I never show that side, ever, as I'm not a buffoon.

"Romanced by a buffoon" is different from making people laugh. Quick witted humor is a sign of intelligence and a positive trait that attracts women (and people in general). Don't be that serious guy.

It is interesting, because when I have been on dating sites, a looot of men mention that "I'm funny", seeming to think that that is attractive. A lot of men also seem to see it as an estimate of their masculinity, both in competition with other men and finding it very important that women find them funny. I really don't get it. Personally I look for much more important qualities in a potential mate, such as integrity, trustworthiness etc. I'm looking for a grown-up, not a boy who wants an adoring audience.

Came across this comment by chance. Spoke with a female friend of mine who just broke up with her boyfriend. She explains that while he checked a lot of her boxes he never "made her laugh" I like you call B.S

No, you're confusing things. A woman will ALWAYS want a man that makes her laugh cause being funny is a sign of intelligence. Also, women show laughter as an obvious clue that they are attracted to someone. If a man can't even make u laugh that means he is below ur intellectual level.

@ALDERMANOFFOUNTALL Of course I completely agree. One reason I posted this is because most guys on the pull play the merryandrew and many modern women fall for it because "he's funny".The 19th Century woman had to be more discerning because she was marrying for both love and profit. He had to be a man of character if he was to be a stable provider, but alas women these days provide for themselves so her critical eye can be less harsh.
