After a series of traditional folders, I started carrying a Tinker exclusively about 40 years ago.. I never considered another knife because the Tinker did everything I expected it to do and a few that I didn't. It''s simply a great tool, not only for beginners but also for people who've carried knives most of their lives. If I hadn't discovered the Super Tinker several years ago, I'd still be carrying the original every day..

Hey Michael 👊🏼 All great carries, which I rotate myself. The Explorer I'm reviewing soon, too 😉 The Tinker has an extra special place, as it's the original MacGyver model in the 1980's series... Thanks for stopping by, buddy, ATB Gus 👍🏼

Completely agree about two layer SAK's. They marry form and function perfectly. Slotted screwdriver, phillips screwdriver and a second blade. What's not to like? You know i'm a huge fan of the Super Tinker, but this is another good option.

Hey John 👊 I've always enjoyed 2-layer SAK's the most, for EDC, which I switch up, for other regular models in my weekly rotation. As a carpenter, most of my life, I have a multitude of saws & tools. The SAK saw is a great little saw that's very capable, and I use quite often 🏕 🪵🔥🌳 Good to hear what you've done with the slotted screwdriver. Perhaps you could do a video on it, I'd be interested in seeing 👀 that... 😉 Thanks for watching, Atb Gus 👍

@@gadgetgus I only got a mobile phone but yeah any bigger than 2 layers sak you get heavy and has tools im not going to use only buy a sak with tools your going to use I use bench grinder to turn flat head driver into a small gouge not forgetting to quench tool or you soften steel burn temper out then it won't hold a decent edge anymore 👍🐾🦊🇮🇹

It would be even better if they could figure out how to switch the Phillips around so it's more like a screwdriver
@gadgetgus
@gadgetgus 2 ай бұрын
Hey James 👊🏼 They can, but they set the other tools 'in-line', as most people use them more frequently. However, I'm reviewing the Explorer very soon, which has an in-line Phillips... 😉 The Scientist & Yeoman had in-line Phillips, I wish they'd bring back those models! However, if you find the right 1/4" socket, you can slide the socket over the end of the large flathead/caplifter and put any 1/4" screwdriver bit you want in there... Thanks for stopping by, ATB Gus 🍻
