Gah, starting up this episode and hearing that really struck me. A mixture of finality of the war, the show, and this specific era as the characters know it. Even though I knew what the ending would be, I still felt like I was about to watch a funeral service. Kevin Kiner has done a masterful job with both this and the rebels series and I hope he knows that.

I just rewatched the last 2 episodes but the last one really hit me.. I too thought I was watching a funeral service because of the opening music to “Victory and Death”, the last standoff of Rex and Ahsoka against Jesse and the 332nd/501st. Plus Darth Vader at the end as well. Nothing will be better than this show (my opinion).

The minute this episode began, I knew that this was it. It has this apocalyptic and church like theme to it. It signifies that this truly is the end. The death of democracy, the Republic and the Jedi.

This was a very powerful piece. I might actually prefer this over the funeral themes used in Episodes I & III. I can actually picture people in mourning (possibly closeups of people with a tear rolling down their cheek in sadness) walking as part of a funeral procession with or without holding candles in vigil.

I still think about this moment a lot to be honest. It's honestly extremely upsetting just knowing how Order 66 and The Jedi Purge affected the entire galaxy. Even in this certain perspective from Ahsoka, just watching her reaction as literally the Clones who painted their helmets in her design to respect her return only to turn against her shortly after. Like I said, this moment alone just pretty much showed how the Republic was slowly crumbling and falling apart. Truly terrifying.

As of July 3rd, 2021, this still really hurts. All the pain, suffering, dread, nightmares, gore, loss, horror, and worst, worthlessness in the public’s eye, went to a selfish monster who wanted dictate the galaxy. Sometimes, when I really think about that, I tear up a little.
