A lot of Victory amps seem to be voiced pretty dark. Would you say this is darker than for example, the Bad Boy, or another Marshall-type amp you like? Can it get as bright and open?

It isn't dark, marshalls are specially bright. Let me explain.. i will talk about frequencies, the kraken has his treble around 5k and then drops, but it doesnt feel dark because the high-mids are very prominent. Marshalls maybe have the treble around 7k or more, on the abrasive side. Kraken doesnt have fizz like modern metal amps but it feels incredibly dynamic and percusive, chuggy and powerful, in any case dark as if a blanket was on the speaker. If I compare it with a jcm 2000 I have, the jcm feels a lot more loose and lifeless despite having some more high treble freqs.

What is the tuning on that guitar? Drop C? It's pretty sick how loud any tube amp is. Even 3W is damn loud in a studio or bedroom.

I know this is an older video but... How do you feel this compares to the EVH 5150iii 50W EL34? I've been between these two for a while cause I've tried the 50W EL34 EVH a bunch and its like a 5150 with an old Marshall soul but the kraken is supposed to be old Marshall AND a 5150 and its also way more enticing that the power is the same but in a much smaller package. What do you think?
