What I love the most about this episode, and the series as a whole, is Blue and his character arc. He desperately wanted to be the champ, and he became one thanks to his skill. But after that he is still unfulfilled, he realized that this is not what he hoped for. And he is still on his quest to find inner peace, in a way...

I don’t think it’s that. It’s more like he wanted to prove to his grandpa that he’s better than red, because red was always one step ahead of him, and oak always seemed to take a better liking to red than him.

I actually really liked that we got to see how Blue got along with the Elite Four before Red's challenge came in. I also really liked his own struggles with what his true worth is now that he's finally achieved it all. I have a feeling his final battle with Red will be much more epic than your first iteration from years ago. :D

@@GardevoirBoy1991 Blue probably doesn't want anything to do with Champion after being defeated by Red. He decided to spend time as Viridian's gym leader (the city closest to his home in Pallet town, in fact). Otherwise you'd have seen Blue as one of the Elite 4 or something in Red's time.

@@michaelvonreich74 Apparently, Blue became Viridian City Gym Leader since it was close to Pallet Town. Giovanni gave up his position because he realized that Pokemon are not used as tools for business thanks to his defeat by Red. It didn't help that Blue lost his Champion title to Red anyway. Unfortunately for Blue, Lance took back the Champion title. To be fair, the Indigo League Champion was intended to be Lance anyway.

If I remember correctly, this battle (the one where he won) happened after Blue started to get obsessed with power, so the darkness was already there in his heart. Plus, if Sabrina was as merciless about attacking Blue's mind and she was about attacking Red's, it's not hard to imagine him seeing her as an enemy rather than an opponent.

Phenomenal job again. This video was wonderful. I like how Blue started out as a rival to Red and later developing a sort of grudge to a point. Wonderful job on the flashbacks of Blue's journey along with the scene with Blue with his grandfather Samuel Oak and his sister Daisy, was put very well together. 4:47 Nice reference to Lorelei's (aka Prima) outfit and appearance in The Orange Islands episode "Mandarin Island Miss Match" on the magazine on the right and the photoshoot with Karen with both her and Karen's old outfits and later ones. 5:04 Love the Crystal Onix reference. Always wanted one since seeing that Orange Islands episode as a kid. Can't wait to get one when Scarlett and Violet come out in November.

I quite like how you actually gave Blue more than just...a few hours to be the Pokemon League Champion. Especially with showing how, despite becoming the champion, Blue doesn't feel any more fulfilled than before, and it being a sort of empty experience for him, feeling listless and restless. I also found it funny how put off he was by what some of the elite four members do in their free time, like...I just laughed at how Lorelei was milking her attractiveness for all it's worth!(...and I think by this point it's...pretty clear which female body type you like to draw XD), or how Bruno was basically a super focused bodybuilder (as if his huge muscles didn't clue me in already XD. My favorite scene here was how Prof. Oak and Daisy were trying to help Blue figure out what he really wants to do with his life, and how it doesn't necessarily have to line up with their personal accomplishments. There's a lovely irony at play here. Blue has an affinity for Pokemon battling (he even said it to his gramps), but as the strongest recognized trainer in the region, he....sure doesn't a lot of that, huh? In a way...that actually DOES make the position of Gym leader pretty great for him...especially if the big lesson he learns from all this is to be conscientious of himself and to be humble...sometimes (This IS still Blue, after all).

Volkner (from Sinnoh) was a major rival/friend to Elite Four Flint. And Drayden (from Unova) mentored Iris, the girl who would eventually become Unova’s Champion.

Volker from Sinnoh being Flint's rival and best friend, especially considering you face him in the post-game with a team equal to or stronger than Flint's own, Drayden in Unova mentoring the gym-leader Iris (one is a gym leader in Black, the other is the gym leader in White) who eventually becomes Champion herself, Wallace who takes over from Steven in Hoenn... There's plenty of examples to say that the 8th gym leader, even if somewhat curtailed in their battling teams pre-elite, are well and truly as strong as (if not stronger than) the elite four when they go all out.

That's true, 8th gym leaders, with the exception of 6th gen, are on par with the elite four... In gen 2 specifically, it's shown that victory road is empty (because no one in Johto could beat Claire) and that, if she wanted, could defeat the entire elite 4 except Lance

Even when Daisy suggest to him of being gym leader for the Viridian Gym but now comes the final battle between him and Red to finally end things once and for all between them! Let's go!! In just a few minutes, you showed how different Blue’s journey was from Red’s: all about getting to the top regardless of methods, never once considering the wellbeing of others (sometimes even pouring salt on the wounds), riddled by pride and insecurities. His fall from grace is going to be a spectacle to behold. Red has been all about enjoying every moment, learning from everything he can, growing alongside his Pokémon and making friends (never once considering himself above anyone), facing himself and becoming stronger for it. Ironic that the trainer who chose a fire started has the calmer disposition. All those call backs to the early anime seasons were a great treat especially with your own twists. The Crystal Onix, Loreli’s anime outfit; you’re appealing to all generations of Pokémon fans. I will be extremely impressed if you continue to animate every region up to Paldea (you’ll have a *very* long road ahead of you). And once again, you did great fleshing out each Elite Four Member in their down time. Bruno was hilarious, Lorelei was smoking hot, Agatha’s history with Oak was surprisingly heartfelt, and Lance seemed like some kind of Zen Master (no doubt his Gyarados was one who climbed the waterfall as a Magikarp). I’ll be sure to tune in for next week. The Elite Four will get the wake up call of their lives.

The endgame is now, Blue's desire to be his own self has been twisted after all this time, the elite four and champion staying to train and learn from each other, Blue realizing that his pursuit after the title of Champion didn't bring the happiness he thought would, it's sad to see but good to know he will turn better. Red and the rest of victory roaders are a nice touch, after all they are also great trainers and gym, elite and champion candidates, also Moltres randomly appearing and everyone ganging up on the raid boss was funny. We already know what will happen now, but seeing it unfold will be priceless. Also holy moly Lorelei and Bruno are stacked.

You displayed Blue feelings on how much he’s grown from his journey as he walks up the stairs to face his toughest challenge, with Red on his tail! I love how when Blue becomes Champion he starts losing his patience as he waits for Red’s arrival. All the Elite Four members get rocked by Blue which was a bit of treat as he has gone through a lot to get to where he is. The one headscratcher for me was how Blue got his Thunder, Marsh, and Volcano badges. How he got the Boulder Badge was shown in a flashback scene after Red got his, Blue's battle with Misty for the Cascade Badge was shown in real time in conjunction with Red's going through Mt. Moon, Blue was willing to degrade himself for a shot at the Rainbow Badge with that disguise as explained by the guard, and he got the Soul and Earth Badges on screen as well. The Thunder, Marsh, and Volcano badges were a mystery until now. Blue got the Thunder Badge thanks to his Growlithe taking out Lt. Surge's Raichu, turned Sabrina's Psychic power against her to make her lose and hand over the Marsh Badge, and snatched the Volcano Badge just before handing Blaine over to the International Police.

Another excellent episode!! I expected focus on Moltres, but I think I prefer what you did with Blue and his time as Champion. It's not all it's cracked up to be, huh? It makes him feel more human, and less like a jerkish obstacle. He's a young man struggling with his identity, and it makes me want to see both he and Red find what they want in life. 4:47 Apparently victory has its perks... Or not! It looks like Blue is a little...skeptical.😄 Though it feels like a logical addition. Given their status and fame, it seems logical the Elite Four Members would be contacted by magazines and advertising executives. 4:55 I take it that Bruno is the Level-1 Evolution of Lt Surge.^^ More seriously (and spoilery) I admit, it's a bit of an interesting twist: To show Blue feeling somewhat hollow and disappointed after his victory (but too proud to admit it to his sister and grandfather). He was so obsessed with becoming a Pokemon Master to prove himself, that he didn't realize the responsabilities that would come after... The flashbacks of his victory against the gym leaders were a good addition. The one with Erika is my favorite.^^ (And I suppose Blue appreciated the taste of revenge against Sabrina.) I like what you did with Oak, showing he cares about his grandson. I also appreciated the tale of Red's journey through Victory Road. Plus, we got to see his team. Now the stage is set for the final confrontation.

I had to change that with Oak. In games he said things like care with pokemon, but he don't even praise his own grandson for becoming the champ. "Blue i'm dissapointed" is hard hahaha

This is great, like always. Really like how you keep building on Blue. Shows that he's got the skill, but he now sees that life on the top has a disadvantage...can only go down from there. He has his championship but shows that the title just isn't a bragging right and comes with responsibilities and disadvantages. And now he has what he initially wanted...he doesn't know what to do with it. But he still is not willing ot give it up because he would feel like he needs it to be somebody. I feel that when the time comes of his defeat...well he may get angry at first but in a way it also may become a relief of sorts. Also clever way to refer the crystal onix by tying it in to terastralizing. And with Red ready to do the League challenge, the next few parts will be full of awesome fights, which I look forward to. Already subscribed, but I hope many more people do because not only does your work deserve to be seen and admired, a lot of people don't want to see it ends so soon either.

Blue in Celedon gym was a comical anime reference plus you used the new Paldea region to give Bruno Crystal Onix which was anime , these references were unexpected and oh yeah the photoshoot of Lorelei with future Elite 4 Karen was nice too Just the mood's saddened and hyped up that Pokemon Master Red's journey is getting over But the new regions are also there to explore :)

Can’t wait to see the finale between the two! Please take your time Pedro and don’t rush the E4 battles too much since I do want to see Red battle it out fully. I don’t mind if that means we’ll get an entire episode or 2 to just Red vs Blue since by this point Red will be tired, not using legendaries, & will have used many items to get that far (his max revives, full restores, berries, pp elixirs, etc).

So that's why Blue wasn't champ in gen 2 instead of Lance when Red disappeared. I mean he looks really bored of being champ here and he hates that can't fight anyone until they beat Elite Four. As a gym leader he had much more battles and thanks to them still grow with his Pokémons. Of course Lance became stronger in gen 2. (Proof: Dragonairs evolved into Dragonights). But I still think Blue was stronger than him having much more balanced team.

Pedro, I'm so excited to see this animation series coming to a head. Blue's character developement has been incredible, and seeing that, even now, he's still not sure if being champion is what he wants, after finally achieving it. Truly, it's an incredible achievement that you have made here, and I for one cannot be prouder of you. I hope that we get to see the return of Buff! Red, when he faces Bruno. I want to see Red's reaction to Agatha, I want to see him learn from his fight with Lance, who himself believed to be a friend of Red's later on. I want to see Blue's continued developement from the elite battler that he is, to the gym-leader he becomes and the man who travels the world with Red by his side (we see him with Red in Alola's Battle Tree!) as well as competing in the Champion's tournament in Unova. I want to see them both progress and see where their lives take them! But most of all I want to see you, Pedro, rewarded for all the incredible work you have put in, and (I hope) see another, sequel series to this on. Because it is truly a piece of art and history. Incredible as always; this will forever be a series that I cherish and love.
