It's interesting how you showed that Blue is color-coding past moments in his mind on what counts as being weak (blue) vs being strong (red). Very nice touch and it shows how Blue was going towards the mentality he has at the end of the game as champion, pretty much obsessed with proving that he's not just strong, but the STRONGEST.

Kanto is free, Red is a legend, whether he wanted to be or not. There was so much in this, and I don't even know where to begin. I feel bad for both Red and Blue too. Giovanni, much as he deserved it for what he did... It's still hits you. How things could have been different if you just lend an ear. So much good characterization in this episode.

Nice episode. As I've already said, I like a lot your narrative episodes - usually even more than the ones centered around battles, and this one was no exception. People have already (rightfully) pointed out how well-made the explanation of why Red will eventually leave for Mt. Silver is. Therefore, I'll insist more on how good an idea it was to show the birth of Blue's resentment and hardcore competitive mindset. It was a necessary step if one wanted to stay faithful to the original games, and it felt realistic. I enjoyed a lot the interactions between Red and Misty (obviously^^, it's always nice that this plot point is reminded regularly), and also the ones with Leaf (her helping Red shows the character development she has had). Though my favorite character moments are probably the ones centered on Giovanni. I've maybe said it before, but your interpretation of Giovanni is my favorite version of this character by far. Finally, the little continuity of the flash forward with Koga was a welcomed touch.

I find it to be a neat detail how Green impersonates Red at 2:31 to draw attention away from him so that he can escape the crowds. It's a good nod to how Red always had black hair in Gens 1 & 2 but suddenly switched to brown from Gen 3 onward.

Perfect episode. Every second is so priceless with his many details: i loved how Blue changed his attitude and mindset and how Silver cut the ties with his father and Team Rocket. Poor Red, he never wanted to be a star, but only do the right thing; Giovanni is so angry: the Casino, the master ball and now his son, in his mind is all Red's fault and when he will discover that Mew is now on Red's hand he will be furious. Finally we have the match against Sabrina, she is surely a powerful Gym Leader, but Red will prove his worth. Congratulations for this flawless episode, a shining example to what pokemon sould be to his core. You are really impressive and skilled.

I love how all the stories are amazingly tied together. I like that it shows how blue developed his attitude for strong and weak pokemon and how he wants to become the champion. Also I like that red just pops mew out of no where so at least the mew he caught was showed. Overall, great episode to end the silph saga and to continue everyones plots.

Even in victory, it seems Red and Blue still suffer losses. Red loses anonymity being swarmed by fans and the media while Blue loses confidence in himself by seeing himself as second best to his rival on a major scale (definitely made worse since he comes from a family known for impressive accomplishments). And it seems Red learned how Oak (and Agatha) were responsible for Giovanni’s Start of Darkness just because they cruelly dismissed his belief that Mew was real. A belief Red was more than willing to validate. And Giovanni is once again overwhelmed by all his past failures. The guy turned himself into a monster but even I feel he needs a break. Life just seemed to have it in for him (though his life of crime is his fault). But at least Red can get a little respite with Leaf playing as his stunt double. Pedro, you’ve been giving a classic game a massive remastering in terms of lore, character depth, interactions, and drama. It’s incredible.

You really start to see why Red goes into hiding in Gen 2, and also like how you see Blue (or Green, whichever you wan a call him) starts focusing more on power, all the stuff that the games referenced but here given so much more attention. I like how different this is from the base game. It really lends itself into showing how big of a deal it was that Team Rocket was stopped at Silph Co. In the games, it doesn't really feel significant because Giovanni doesn't really seem all that powerful as you have beaten him before. Red hating the fame he received is neat as it hints towards his eventual abandonment towards being the champion is a neat addition and good foreshadowing. I like how Blue and Red are suffering from what the other wants, as Blue would want to have the spotlight while Red would just want to be left alone. This kind of story is what I would want from a future Kanto remake if there needs to be one.

Another thing I forgot to mention is how we actually were shown the consequences of Team Rocket's attack, where they had full control over the region until the gym leaders, elite four, and the main trio managed to regain control of the situation.

Okay, you had given me a point of view on why Blue wanted to be Champion and Red hid in Mt. Moon. It's because Blue wants to catch up to his family's legacy.. while Red is burnt out from all the interviews. Great work, also saw Nidoking.

Love how Koga thwarts Red's attempt to ditch the newly crafted Master Ball and suggests using it on Mewtwo the next time it's encountered. Setting the stage for Red to get the ultimate Psychic type later down the line. Also loved the earlier scene where Red deposits Hypno and takes out Mew to show to Professor Oak, Agatha, Misty, Daisy, Koga, and Green with a broad range of reactions such as Oak, Koga, and Agatha's disbelief that Giovanni was telling the truth about that Pokémon to Misty, Daisy, and Green being awestruck. Interesting idea for Red to trade his Dodrio for Green's Haunter, causing it to evolve into Gengar as a result. Wonder how the Saffron City Gym Leader, Sabrina, will react if Red uses Mew during the fight. Speaking of reactions, Giovanni's would be great to see if he ever learned Red had the very Pokémon that he encountered in his younger days.

I SO SO SO SO SO SO LOVE this series, you really make Red and Blue such real chars, Red who just wants his normal life back instad everyone want to see the hero of Kanto and not the Trainer behind this new "Titel", while Blue gets more and more frustrated about the gab between him and Red, feeling that all his efforts got more and more meaningless just because Red is in his eyes so much stronger than him. He stards developing a complex that its all about power and not love and passion. It hurts to see these two. ALSO, I just love the dynamic between Red and Leaf, that she´s just this little sister of him now, also his Mom jsut having the time of her life with leaf. And ofc Giovanni, seeing him crumbeling down because all of his hard work, the blood the money he spend all the presumable corpses he walked over, the love and support of his only son, all lost because of a 10 year old. Also Also seeing Gio´s past, that he once was just a inocent dreamer who asspired for such cool great things was slowly but sturdy corrupted by the harshness of the Real world and it´s stuborness, even our lovely Prof Oak is not free of guild in this Part. Wow. I think i love this episode for different reasons. I love how you developed the characters and show what happened. It feels sad both Red and Blue are suffering. Blue for being in everyone's shadow. Red for getting the fame he doesn't want and he only got because he did what is right. I hope you bulid on this when you get to mt. Silver. That was a nice way to come down from the Silph Co. hype. First off that Lapras has been hacked; no way it already knows Ice Beam and strong enough to blitz Giovanni's team. So Red and Green are officially siblings now right? His mom treats her like she's her daughter and the two's actions are like brother/sister in this with is adorable. Also, more cute Misty moments. Man you can feel Red's anxiety from everyone knowing him now in this. No wonder he goes to live on a mountain afterwards. Not to mention Blue's mindset right now; someone give these boys a hug. So now Mew is in the party. Neat. I know me and others have said it before but you really know how to craft a narrative with visuals alone and I love it. Can't wait for the next episode where Red faces the Psychic Queen herself.

A expressão do professor Carvalho quando ele olha pro Mew e percebe que o Giovanni estava certo quanto a ele o tempo todo diz tudo que era preciso sobre ele naquele momento em poucos segundos A fama do Red estragando tanto o prazer do Red em continuar a jornada dele quanto o gosto do Blue pelos próprios Pokémons também é uma construção maravilhosa, mostrando que os problemas deles extrapolam vilões mais diretos como a Equipe Rocket Cara sua ação e momentos épicos são incríveis, mas acho que são nessas montagens mais contemplativas que se destaca a excepcionalidade dessa série Maravilhoso o trabalho!

The world and story building in this series is amazing and I really love it. Even though I'm more of a burningleaf shipper(red x leaf) because of the manga, I still think Misty and Red's relationship here is pretty sweet and cute. Heavy stuff. Red was always a quiet guy who liked his space, and now he has to deal with the consequences of fame when he was just doing the right thing, while Blue feels inferior thanks to living in his grandfather's shadow and not being recognized for his efforts just because he wasn't caught on film during all this. Even Red seems to have come to feel sympathy for Giovanni, showing Mew to finally prove Giovanni was right even when he didn't have to. Giovanni was shunned by the public for his beliefs, Blue feels forgotten by it, and Red feels trapped by intrusive pressure.
