I've had mine for 2 weeks and it has become my favorite controller for a multitude of reasons I didn't initially expect when buying this controller; I initially bought it for Guilty Gear Strive. I also bought a mayflash Switch adapter which I have the 2.4ghz dongle attached to at all time. Not only is this DPad the best I've used in fighting games, but also the best DPad for any 2D game. Almost as if fighting games are the last hurdle a DPad must overcome to be truly something special because playing retro titles and Metroidvanias on this feels great even compared to an 8Bitdo controller. The ability to switch stick position is also really nice to emulate a SNES controller layout for those types of games. I really like the octo-gate option, something reviews have briefed over since it doesn't have a place to shine in shooters and fighting games. For games where I feel like I'm not missing out from lack of gyro, rumble and motion controls it is my preferred controller hands down and its largely due to the octo gate and 4 back buttons. Being able to switch visors and beams in Metroid Prime without stopping feels natural and improves the pacing of the game in a slight but noticeable amount. The dome top also reminds me of the Gamecube controller joystick which I enjoy. I highly recommend playing non e-sports/competitive games with this controller and see how you feel with it, its become my go-to controller on all platforms and almost all emulation (the 6 button fightpad also turns it into a faux N64 controller for PC emulation). My main criticism is how behind Victrix is with software and lack of communication on if there will be replacement modules on these. The triggers are too sensitive for my liking and I would like to remap stick clicks and button mappings on some profiles but I can't do anything about it because the software doesn't do anything other than control stick calibration. If they were to make a successor I really hope they add gyro and rumble.

I just learned about this controller, and I also thought about emulation when I've seen how it works. Some games definitely feel off without the 6 button configuration or the octagonal shape around the sticks, and it offers both options.

It's overall absolutely the best PS5 controller for me (that's partly a personal preference as I do not like PS controller layout at all) & is the best secondary controller for anyone as it offers something different from the Dualsense Edge or the Xbox Elite (which I do think is the best controller overall). I have a PS5 & a PC. People complain about it feeling 'cheap' - I disagree - I think it's part of the appeal of having it as your alternative controller; the main reason I bought it was for fighting games - my thumb is fucked & in any case, the six button fightpad really requires an underhand grip - in which case, you want it to be light. I really don't care about rumble or gyro at all & the games I'd want to play that utilise haptics, I'd just use my standard PS5 controller - I don't see any reason to buy the Dualsense Edge - it brings nothing new to a controller I don't love, but this offers a very different experience. I will agree that the triggers don't feel great, but I find for many games (eg Final Fantasy 16), I just bind them to the back buttons instead & that works perfectly well.

I bought it a month and had no problems but I do wish they would make replacement thumbsticks tho because I accidentally dug in one of the sticks and it has a tiny groove right now but it's not minor but I really being using it a lot

Alot of people complaining about this controller. I'm not really sure why. People say it "feels light"....Compared to what???? A masonry brick? It feels like a controller. Also, build quality? It feels fine. It doesn't flex. It doesn't creak or squeak. The face buttons are tactile and definite. It feels no lighter than my Dualshock 4 which, lets be honest, is the greatest controller ever made. I honestly think people are just bitter about the lack of gyro/feedback. If this controller had that, youtube would be one giant circle jerk for the BFG. But, it doesn't so, we're calling it "cheap". Second, the company is ACTUALLY acting on consumer feedback!!! Vitrix announced swap-in ready hall effect modules -AND- the ability to buy separate components so you don't have to buy an entire controller if a trigger fails. I will say this though, my ONLY complaint with this controller is: It isn't perfect. It COULD feel MORE organic in the hands. I feel the move from R2 to R1 or L2 to L1 awkward and a bit strained. I still love the controller. Just could be 10-15% larger.

I know you have had this controller longer than any of us.. I would go to you for tips on the deadzone and aiming settings before anyone else. Do you have a video that has been uploaded for how you set your aiming controls in fps and tps games? what do you recommend as far as the right stick deadzone settings in the victrix app? i am getting this crazy overaim and i have the inner deadzones set to zero but its almost as if when im actually playing a game it ignores all my deadzone settings and goes from 0 to 50 in an instant. im really having this issue in re4 remake and mw2. i would appreciate any tip even if it is just one..

Beware if want to use it wireless. Seems to be a issue with the dongle going bad and the company has been radio silent besides what on their website to re-pair the controller to it. Which doesn't work. Works great otherwise but I specifically got to connect cable less to my PS4 so my dogs don't yank out the cable when I'm on couch.

Funny. I just searched for this controller and this video was uploaded 12 minutes ago. Good to see more "long term" reviews. :) Edit: haptic feedback and adaptive triggers + gyro features can not be included because Sony owns patent for them. So you can't just put them. Sony will not allow it.

@@elohimaka I do not like the sticks. For me they are not as precise as Dualsense sticks. I think they have some deadzone issues that you cannot fix. For this reason I use Scuf Rexlex Pro (and FPS) controllers that are basically modded dualsense controllers. Otherwise this Pro BFG is great. They have the best back button design I have ever tried and modular design is great!

Iv used elite controllers from the beginning. I dont play console anymore and my only problem with PS controllers is the layout. My problem with elite controllers is the polling rate... I think I might switch to this controller since I can get the standard elite layout with 250 polling rate or whatever it is... Do you have any opinion or experience with poll rate? Can you feel the response time on this controller? The controller for the xbox they made looks hideous haha.

Thanks for the update I have one as well and enjoy it so far. Although can now only use mine wired, I some how lost the dongle and cant find it. Wonder if it has to be their specific one or if I could try an universal one. I also tried contacting them, but no one messages back. it seems like a decent controller and does the job I need it for just wish I did have to keep a wire attached to it.

I picked this up 2 weeks ago mostly for use with ps5, seeing as I already have brook adapters and a Razor Raiju ultimate ps4 pad to accommodate my "Pro controller" needs on other platforms like my series X, switch and ps2. I gotta be honest, I'm a little disappointed with the Victrix BFG. I'll still keep it, and for my ps5 it's a serviceable pro controller, swapping stick placement and buttons is nice, but compared to the ps4 Razer I own, it ain't nowhere near as a sturdy build. I would reccomend people pay out a little more to get the Razer ps5 pad, I wish I did. 7/10.

Have you answer the question about if being a 3rd party controller if you can use it on Versions of PS5 Games (not ps4 versions) cause if your not aware games like mw2 warzone 2 and a lot more others have block all 3rd party controllers, so anything other than a dualsense wont work

I'm so disappointed in the pads svailable for the ps5 (as a fgc enthusiast). The hori octa is ok, but its also flimsy as hell, super light and feels like its going to break if i squeeze it hard enough, also the pad isnt very good. The BFG is also very flimsily made but this is more than twice the price of the octa, i like this one the better just because of the disc pad which is far superior to the Dualsense and edge x pads. The Xbox Elite disc pad is still the best pad for fighting games bar none. The dual sense is of much higher quality but its cross pad is a straight downgrade from the Dualshock 4, way too imprecise. The edge is even sturdier and heavier than the Dualsense and feels very premium in your hands. It also has higher quality materials on the back so it doesnt get as dirty as fast as the dualsense does and its easier to clean but the pad is just as bad and the paddles are useless for games like SF6 because they are too sensitive and cannot be mapped in the game. Its a shame the Edge has no disc adapter for the pad like any other "premium" controller. This sucks because more and more people are.moving to leverless and I cant mechanically play on leverless thanks to an injury in my left hand so im stuck with this lineup of pads that are far inferior to their ps4 counterparts.

Had for a month. Diagonals on dpad aren't accurate at all. Tested on the latest victrix hub and confirmed directions get triggered incorrectly. The dpad needs a dead zone setting. Very disappointing.
