Victron / Arduino Offgrid Solar Monitoring - Live and Online.

Hi! Nice work! I'm using a BMV in my camper and would like to hook it up to the arduino that I already use for monitoring. I think I read somewhere that the anything you hook up to the ve.direct port needs to be galvanically seperated from the battery. Is that true? I can't find the page where I read that. I'd like to power my ardiuno from the same battery set the BMV monitors. Did you connect it directly or did you use opto couplers?

Hi Dockarl. Have you managed to isolate the midpoint voltage top and bottom, and deviation% from the Victron protocol? Friend has developed some software but I don't think he has those variable right.

excellent video and smart looking dashboard! I know you have experience with the pip 4048, I live offgrid and I just wanted to monitor my total kwh that my pip produced through a 3 kwh array. the smartpower software that comes with it gives me Amps and volts in real time but doesn't do the maths to give me a kwh figure! do you know of any plug and play software that has this feature or is there a work around on the smartpower software? many thanks and your help would really be appreciated. cheers, Glenn

Hello. Could you help me with checksum calculatuing? it's example from VE.BUS protocol document. Checksum there is BB. Length its 04. But if I will sum all bytes 0xFF + 0x41(it's "A" ASCII) + 0x01 + 0x00 = 0x41. Its not same as BB. 04 FF ‘A’ 01 00 BB 05 FF ‘A’ 01 00 00 f BA
