Hi! My father has a PIP 4048 from 2015 which got defected last week in one night. In the morning he found the inverter oscillating. It's hearing a sound of relays oscilating about 2Hz. The leds from the invertor display oscillate all with the same frequency and the buttons are not ressponsive. I checked the power transistors with a multimeter and all are good. I presume the defect is in the board that generates the sinusoidal frequency. Have you got any schematics or some hints for repair? Thank you!

I bought this battery monitor in 2015, but after a few years the display lighting is very weak and almost impossible to read in the dark. I am looking for a way to disassemble the battery monitor and replace the LEDs.

My pip 5048 MG runs just fine for 6 years straight with 0 problems. There are lots of knockoffs you have to be careful.

I think you'll find this vid is much older than 6 years. The early ones were utter shit. The company, at the time, had a tendency to blame the user and it was utter exasperation after much back and forth with their customer service that led me to make this video. I too have been running an inverter now with zero problems for 6 years - it's victron, and it's awesome. Pay less, pay twice. As an aside, this video led me to meet a very skilled electronics engineer in Austrlia. He identified many of the problems with the firmware and software and released modifications to both, which forced the manufacturer through shame to make changes. It's likely, thus, that your six years of bliss occurred tangentially as a result of this video.

Thank you for your video. I think I have a problem with my set up. How can I know my parameters? My batteries are 2 x 12v 120AH AGM batteries, in series. I recently had a Victron Monitor 700 installed. I think the set up might have been done wrong. I don't know why it gives an alarm. At the time the alarm starts, the voltage says 12.71v, the battery percentage says 97.1%, and the other readings are 74.8h, -12.1 Ah, -2.03 A. I'm assuming the voltage if 12.71v is low? But if it is, surely the percentage shouldn't be 97.1% (I would expect that to be low too(?)) Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I paid a lot of money for an auto electrician to install it, but he is in a town so far away from me now that i can't drive back to him to get it checked.

A simpler solution is adding delay(500) at the beginning of the setup() function. The internal reset chip on the W5100 enables the chip after 240ms. Hence, adding a 250ms or to be sure :) 500ms should do the trick; at least this always worked for me.

I you have 4 100ah batteries do you set it at 100ah or 400ah ?
@dockarl1232 жыл бұрын
That would depend if they are in series or parallel. Let’s assume they’re 12v 100ah batteries. If you had 4 in series to make a 48v battery, then it’s a 48v 100ahr battery so you’d set it as 100ahr. If it was 4 in parallel, then you’ve got a 400ahr 12v battery, so you’d set it at 400ahr.

Man,your video was of great help; the 5 R001 resistors sense the current,you say; I get sometimes a message "Protection. Current Sensor Anomaly" and the Amps read 0( however, Amps continue to flow in and out, i see that om the clamp amp meter), The BMS (150 or 200A??) comes with 4 heavy gauge wires (2+2) I only connected 2 (1+1) because no more than 30 or 35 Amps flow in or out So,now i think that the error message may be due to only 1 wire per side; And i saw in the manual that all 4 wires must be in use!!! Do you think that using only 1 wire per side matters, should i hook up the 2 per side?

Mini (Winter) Solar Tip: You can gradually turn down a boiler and all other hungry electricity consumers with the "5000W dimmer". Ebay €7. I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200...400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. Videos about it on my channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3SVoJ-YeKebnpI The inverter stays cool, quiet and the MOSFETs remain intact because extreme current peaks no longer arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to sell large devices. So, with the dimmer, all internal heaters/devices can be converted into base load devices that stay almost permanently ON, drawing very little current directly from the PV. With a wattmeter / energy cost measuring device you can then measure this perfectly in order to set the dimmer optimally. A little hint (for everyone else): Energy cannot be saved. So if I want to boil my water, I always have to use the same amount of energy for one liter. Christian's method relies on a longer period of time with less power in order to be able to use the power provided by the PV as efficiently as possible - so consumption peaks are intercepted. In the end, the energy consumption should even be (slightly) higher due to the interposition of the dimmer, but it doesn't matter, since more efficient coverage by the PV system and therefore better use of the self-generated energy.............................🌞........

i have a jk-bd3a17s-4p v11.0 board and a 3.3v ttl-usb converter connected to the rs232/rs485 marked pins can talk to the board. The pins on the connector are Vcc = Battery voltage, not 3.3 nor 5v, it's 27v or what you have, then RX/TX and GND. Only connecting RX,TX and GND is enough to talk to the board using the protocol from syssi github repo, baud rate is 115200, ttl 3.3v

HC595 are digital expanders, via serial shift registers, to drive the sample and hold discrete SOT23 MOSFET pairs gate enable control nearer to connectors to make the cell voltage sample and hold and translate it down to base voltage via capacitor charge storage transfer to uP ADC inputs. A discrete analog mux. Wondering if RS485 issues is because of RS485 port sharing, like you can have display or RS485 data link but not both. It is somewhat logical if you want the display you won't use RS485 comm link. Other possibility is it is missing from the firmware load that you have. Might send them an email to ask. I remember if you want CAN bus you have to ask them for firmware version load. The SOP-8 chips NCE4012S chips are the MOSFET n-CH switches to route in and out the balancing current to switching supply super cap storage/ DC-DC converters. Since these are 40v MOSFET's in the 8S version they probably use NCE0108 or NCE0110 100v versions for 16S/24S BMS. I noticed the 8S board do not have the series MOSFET turn on inverter capacitor charge MOSFET placed like the 16S/24S model does. It is the blank spot at inside end of MOSFET string.

You could also use the Master control Hysteresis setting that bypasses the PID control function.. Just set the Hysteresis to say 2 and the controller will turn on when the fridge gets 2 deg above set point and off when the fridge gets to 2 deg below set point....

Just had their 3024GK blow up a month after warranty. Tasmanian install. Clamp diode a short and the DC side MOSFETs are all fairly unhappy. After 4 days of arguing they agreed to replace the unit only if I sent to back to China or paid a $65USD "processing fee". Bought from ebay from maximum_solar who said they were in QLD but coincidentally appear to keep Tawain business hours.
