Victron VenusOS & Raspberry Pi| Install Relay Board and setup | 3 Relays | Part II

Cerbo GX does allow you to connect Relays and use automations to trigger them. Since the Raspberry Pi is limited to its USB interfaces I want to try a Relay Board to connect to the Raspberry Pi and see if it works with VenusOS and what we need to configure. This second Relay board allows to pass through the pins and still use them for different reasons like connecting a housing fan.

Once again... Thank you for such clear videos! I got the 3 way relay board in today and got it connected and, thanks to you figuring out the logic for the pins, I am up and running in a few minutes! I also have the package manager installed and am excited about the new features. I have an old gopro hero 3 that I took apart, soldered on some tiny leads to the negative, the power button, and the camera click button. They are working properly to control the camera. For fun, I am going to try to use one relay to turn it on, and another to trigger a camera click. Just looking for a delay and pulse option now rather than on off switch for the relays. If I'm lucky, the ruuvitag motion sense will trigger my gopro to turn on and record.

Hi Thanks you for great video setting up the relay i have installed a 3 relay board and software you have shown works ok but the led light for the relay is lit before i even turn it on and gose off when select on so working opposite way round to yours, if you have any idiea please whay that is

Can i know what happens if the pins are used by other hats. What pins can be used for multiple hats (eg. Pins are classified as BCM, WPI and functions)

analog and digital hats for raspberry venus os would be interesting to see. eg monitoring of other batteries and bilge pumps

Thanks Mange! What do you mean with analog and digital hats? Regarding the bilge pump I know it does work but I need to do more research on this since I do not have such a pump in use.

to measure several batteries, you must have an analog signal. raspberry dont have analog signal. have seen that there are analog hats. and for digital, I want to receive an alarm that the pump is running.

Good question, I think it might work but they all would trigger on one GPIO pin. Do you know what I mean?

Any idea why its not working with relay boards - not hats? Tried with 1, 4 and 8 relay boards and nothing. Played with gpio options and nothing. :(

@@tobisreallifeskillswithtobi few cheap relay boards. Finally made them running, had to do clean os and package install. But still need to figure out how to change relay switches. Right now, while on on panel, relay is off and when i hit off it turns on :) Also, it's quite annoying that during pi bootup it cycles relays.

Hi @ , did you managed to solve this issue with on/off been inverted? same is happening to me, all working but on / off is inverted
