Super basic but underrated concepts. Business is simple at it's core. Jeff clearly cared and understood customer desires. Thinking long term is essential. IIRC it took a long time before Amazon was profitable. He's also a man of his word not just saying fluffy stuff he doesn't follow. Amazon Fresh is somewhat still "misunderstood" in the sense that it is unprofitable in it's current scale, but of course with deep enough pockets he can weather the storm until it one day is (potentially).

Bezos realized a long time ago that doing right by the customer is also doing right by the business in the long term. He built a business based on providing real value and utility to the customer as opposed to one based on slick marketing and financial engineering. Bezos and his company are winners that deserve all of their success.

C'mon, Bezos is completely right about this acquisition. Zappos is a good company and a perfect fit for Amazon.

Nice. It's so simple. Yet why do so many companies simply not get it? I'm not saying Amazon is the Second Coming, but they have changed my life in a generally positive way.

To me he seems like a very nice person; not arrogant or anything. And in fact: Amazon, in my eyes, is the only company, that really, really cares about customers satisfaction. they don`t only talk about it, they really live it. I´m a real fan and about 80% i buy, i buy at amazon !

when given the choice, i would rather buy from zappos than amazon. I hope amazon won't change zappos too much, i enjoy the perks of shopping at zappos, like free NEXT day shipping and huge discounts just for being a loyal customer!
