Troy Baker's voice is really versatile. I think it's a case of poor direction and also the fact that we've heard the exact same voice coming from at least 100 different characters before. No offense to Troy, but video game casting directors need to step tf up. You can only listen to the same 5 voices so much until it becomes repetitive and immersion breaking.

Troy was a poor choice for James. James is an awkward, insecure and confused individual. Troy’s voice is too breathy that it makes him sound sexy. And that’s definitely not what James is. James is frustrated because of his wife’s illness. However, the newest James VA, Luke Robert’s, made him sound confused and awkward quite a bit. My favorite VA has to go to Luke Roberts. Guy Cihi is a close second, but Luke just added the depth and confusion to the character so much more.

perhaps all the remake fans are either dumb or deaf. Luke and Troy's acting is almost identical, the only difference is that Luke wheezes less and has more restrained emotional accents. Guy is James, he understood perfectly how this character should be played, just as the development team understood what he needed to play. Bloopers do not have this understanding at all, as a result, Luke simply does not understand how to play this character and ends up playing a generic horror main character. Holy hell, I've never even bothered to check out HD Collections voice actors up to now, and you're right! It's the same comparison that can be drawn with Homecoming, like a lot of things (combat, overall direction for horror) in the Remake is very much alike, but they call it made "up to date", so they kinda did a good job at that, but they DID NOT do justice to the OG AT ALL. Not really, he has a mix of gruffiness with every day sounding man. He doesn't go too low that he ends up in Troy Baker zone, and doesn't go too high that he ends up in Guy Cihi zone. Coupled with his motion capture performance, it's a 10. He seems very natural and well, like a real person (Because he is a real person I guess). His co-star sounds exactly like the original though, I thought it was the original actress for Mary/Maria when I first heard her.

Люк это улучшенная версия Троя, но суть та же, та же хрипотца ненужная (в оригинале голос Джеймса был мягким и это отлично подходило для его персонажа), такое же непонимание эмоционального состояния персонажа. Стоит отметить, что это не вина Люка, так же как и не вина Троя, что он в хд переиздании сыграл как сыграл. Они хорошие актеры и играют даже Джеймса хорошо, тут проблема в том, что именно команда разработки не дала им четкого представления о персонажах и по итогу они просто сыграли хорошо, но абсолютно не попав в образ. Трою не повезло, потому что он сыграл именно для оригинала и там это непоподание палится моментально, а Люк сыграл в ремейке, который в целом сам по себе сделан с минимальным пониманием оригинала, поэтому и озвучка этому соответствует и не выдает своей посредственности, ибо чтобы догадаться до посредственности направления в озвучке персов, нужно сперва догадаться до посредственности этого ремейка, а эту стадию, как я вижу, почти никто так и не прошел, кроме единиц (и то, некоторые из них те ещё личности, как например челы, которые против всего woke, хотя этой проблемы в игре вообще почти нет, то есть они считают ремейк плохим, но по причинам, которые по адекватности не отличаются от диаметрально противоположной позиции). Хотя бы ты написал здесь здравое, а не как обычно на такие комменты сейчас принято отвечать "не играй тогда в игру", "там всё идеально, у тебя просто ностальгия", "ты слишком глубоко копаешь" и прочее, спасибо реально, а то я уже в отчаянии
