Listening to the lady officer state she is going to get fired really brings a human aspect to the situation in an uncomfortable position. Officers did not allow anyone to be above the law whatever the consequences to them. They are calm, incredibly professional and set a standard that I wish was countrywide. Most importantly they removed a dangerous person from the road who easily could have injured or killed anyone. The transparency of the officers and police department is beyond reproach. Wonderful officers and an example to all.

If this mayor is not arrested and if those police have any problems, they need to sue . Mayors cannot demand ride homes for passengers in vehicles when the mayor is drunk driving. He acts like he’s in control of the situation and he is trying to bully and direct the stop and how they handle it. He needs also to be recalled and replaced. This is disgusting behavior!

I hate that phrase, "you work for me". I had some arrogant parents tell me that when I taught. One especially got under my skin barking orders of what I will do after school to help her uncooperative kid. I taught at a private school at a lot less than public school. My response to her was "well you don't pay me enough." Then I hung up on her.

They had to arrest him this time because he hit another party. Henry has been in three previous incidents in city-owned vehicles - a single-car crash near Goshen Avenue in May, a wreck on Goshen in 2014 and a collision on East State Boulevard in 2009.

If officers work in an environment where they're to do their job but fear doing it when a boss (the Mayor in this case) or 'public' official is the perpetrator, then there's something 'very wrong' with the way our system is run. "What's your name", "I'll remember that, believe me" appears more threatening than not, and perhaps why the arresting officers 'repeatedly' (maybe a dozen times) referenced they'd be losing their jobs. Unless officers are made to 'KNOW' that 'if a public official goes down on their shift, they go down' is the protocol... then that's a pretty SICK standard to have to work under. To be victimized (in a case such as this) by someone else's 'stupidity' is soo hypocritical and wrong. I hope it's not the case, and I would hope these officers are more commended for handing the process in a respectful and decent manner than being reprimanded for doing their job properly. It's unfortunate, but there's only 'one person' that needs to be held accountable for 'anything' involved in this case. Accept, apologize, pay the price deemed appropriate, then move on. Period.
