@NeverSuspects3 жыл бұрын
Look at the area on google earth.. there is a quite a large area that goes from this neighbor hood to the coastline and it's mostly rural up and down the coast here. It isn't a last resort, likely lockdowns and a dramatic drop in human presense outside in this area has made it so the cat had no enocuter to divert it away from the edge of town. Also like is said in the video it may have been pushed out by it's own mother and it could just be a sign that the population is healthy for these cats. I've lived here decades and you hear about sightings of these cats nearly every year around the edge of that side of town.

It's typical for a young male to roam hundreds of square miles looking to establish territory. This is why most of the lions encountered in residential neighborhoods are young males. This lion is definitely eating.

Damn I dont know what I was thinking but I thought mountain lions were way smaller than African lions this thing is huge. Like someone else said, seeing them on the humans territory is a bad sign. This lion must be starving and any who encounters it is in big trouble. The story of the 2 mountain bikers in Washington not long ago who were pursued by one and got off their bikes to confront it ended very badly.

It ended badly cause one of the dudes ran and triggered a chase, never turn your back to a Lion never

@@twostop6895 it was surreal though, or maybe exactly what one should expect, because the lion was already attacking the first guy. He had his head in his mouth and then when he saw the other guy running he went after him and dragged him to a cave and killed him. I wonder if in that case adrenaline keeps you busy trying to stay alive or if you really feel the terror of being taken away by this wild animal and suffering a vicious mauling that ends your life.

There's no dog alive that could fight a mountain lion and survive,the main reason is canines have but one weapon is their bite whereas mountain lions have much more strength than dogs and use their clawed front and back legs to hold and rip the prey to shreds. Much to my chagrin as a old lion hunter I found this out the hard way loosing several dogs.
@maverick214Ай бұрын
No dog alive could fight a mountain lion? Total BS. The Kangal shepherd dog would easily be a match for a mountain lion. It protects livestock in Asia and Africa from wolves, cheetahs and leopards.
@ronhansen4786Ай бұрын
@@maverick214 I've hunted mountain lions for 60+years and have lost many good dogs with nothing more than a swipe of the cats razor sharp claws. A Kangal has a good bite but usually weighs in at 120 lbs,mountain lions go up to 225 lbs and pound for pound cats are much stronger than dogs even more so when they're wild. Dogs have only one weapon their bite but the forth largest cat in the world are mountain lions who make their living by killing large animals have become very proficient at it. Plus a mountain lions incredible strength able to jump 16-18 feet straight up in the air has four razor sharp claws that can tear through the hide of deer,elk or moose. Also they have the power in their arms legs and paws to control animals before giving them a lethal bite to the neck. The only big cat in North America that would best a mountain lion is a Jaguar and that would be some cat fight!
