I’m looking for a good kettle, grinder and scale! I really like making French press and pour overs and teas like green tea and matcha! I am not a big fan of espresso! Can you give me some tips, advice? I will definitely be super grateful for your help? I will be in the U.S in 15 days so maybe I can do my shopping!

@@samuelgill9 In our opinion, the Fellow EKG is the best electric gooseneck kettle on the market right now. It also happens to match aesthetically with one of our favorite grinders, the Fellow Ode Gen2. Pair that with a matching Acaia Pearl scale and you'd have an unstoppable setup second to none!

Hey there. Thanks for this helpful video. A relative gave me a non-gooseneck version of this kettle several years ago. I'm used to it and like it. However, the on/off/temp regulation button gets stuck and won't turn sometimes. The lid gets very stuck. And the quantity of water it holds is barely enough for two. Definitely wouldn't recommend if you want to make three cups of coffee for people. My daughter is asking for this for xmas so I've been looking it up; it's now $225. I was shocked to see your comment that the lid LEAKED. For $225, this seems insane and I'm wondering if you have an update from Fellow on the leaky lids and if that's been resolved? I'm considering the Cuisinart version my friend has, which is slightly bigger capacity, half the price, and works like a charm. This one seems a bit overdesigned and overpriced, though it's pretty to look at. Thoughts?

The lid gasket was updated shortly after release and it no longer suffers the same issue. The EKG Pro is certainly a luxury item! You can brew the same quality coffee with kettles less than 1/4 of the price.

Yes, it does get dirty faster. Over the course of a few years with very heavy use, our office kettle has been permanently stained.

@@jonshin31 It took several years, but yes, it gets a little discolored on the handle and body with heavy use. I'm sure you could extend the life of the kettle by taking better care of it, but we use ours a lot and move it around for photos/video and whatnot. I wouldn't worry about it too much for home use!

Ryan gave viewers a pretty good look at Fellow’s updates to the Stagg EKG associated with the (newer) Pro model. Interestingly, portions of the video that filmed “pour-overs” using the kettle- there were no leaks at the gasket. The kettle’s flow rate was spot-on as designed. It wasn’t until Ryan used the kettle beyond its limits near the end of the vid, which did result in leaks. Moreover, to say Fellow had been contacted about the issue seemed like there was an intent to merely gain credibility as if Prima Coffee has their “finger on the pulse.” In consideration of pour-over rate, we all are aware of kettles that have an increased volume of flow-rate and that there are larger capacity kettles. The Stagg EKG (and Pro) are hard to beat in terms of the kettle’s designed purpose, right? I happen to have friends that own the original Stagg and have handled the newer versions locally in retail shops like Crate and Barrel. My decision to buy a kettle that has a variable temperature setting (rather than “flip-on” and boil gooseneck kettle like I own) is simple to accept Fellow’s Stagg as a huge step-up. So, the real question for me at least is the Pro version worth the extra bucks? Do I need all the additional programming features? Nope. Have I heard that anyone (in practice) of using the Stagg to be irritated by an “ouch” after touching the metal band between the kettle and handle? Nope. Not to worry- I will decide if I want to spend a few dollars more get that colorful display or not. Let’s face it, Fellow’s Stagg kettle looks good on a countertop just sitting there… In the meantime, I’ll continue to use my stainless steel (electric) .9L Chantal kettle with a short gooseneck that heats water and “clicks-off.”
