Hey Brother you have really nice setup. I just wanted to know that how do you replace ISO files with your camera Originals in Davinci Resolve project ? If you can share process and steps to follow, it would be really big help to me.

Dope setup! Lots of fine detail, yet simple… The only issue I see is the heavy hat shadows on everyone… How could you address that?

Yoooo, I’ve been looking for info on whether or not fuji cams work with the Atem! I DP for a production company that uses one for their BM cameras and was interested on whether or not a bunch of XH2s would work too. I couldn’t find any info or videos where someone used it with fuji cams. This is gold. Wonderful video overall
@blasepivovar5 ай бұрын
So cool! Yeah they "work" but you cannot control them with the black magic software or trigger stop start. It is just pulling the HDMI feed. From there, swapping out the atem recorded "proxies" with the full res I record in camera will take a few extra steps but overall works pretty well.

looking forward to the Shimbol transmitter review because i've been considering using it in the same way that you are here.
@blasepivovar5 ай бұрын
yeah its interesting. not sure about a full review at the moment. downside of it for me is that it only accepts an HD signal. The XH2S can't send an HD clean feed (only 4k), in which the device can't accept. You then have to send the info data which drops the resolution and is not then great for showing a client. IMO it's great for the scenario in this video (coming out of an HD monitor) or for filming yourself. Not great for a directors/client monitor if using the XH2S.

MF always in these scenarios, especially with multiple subjects. Did my best to set the focus in between both of them so one didn’t look sharp and the other blurry

Great as always Blase! Always insightful. Got a few questions if you don't mind me asking. Firstly, for the final version of the podcast we are seeing, was there any post processing done to it? Secondly, how is the x-t5 when it comes to recording longer videos. In your experience, has there been any overheating with it. Looking forward to your feedback
@blasepivovar5 ай бұрын
Great questions. In this version I did some light color grading just to dial everything in and make it look as good as possible. I plan to have a version that is straight from the Atem with no color correction and no audio editing and then another version that has some color correction and additional audio editing. The hope would then be to pitch to clients giving them two options at different price points. Depending on their niche I think a lot of clients would be more than thrilled with the unedited versions as they still look and sound great (plus then less post production for me). As far as the XT5, no issues using it indoor for longer recording. Our AC was actually off for an entire episode and it was 84 degrees inside. We went for an hour and a half with no issues. As far as outdoors, I have not done enough testing with the xt5. Hope that helps!

What stand you recommend for the key lights
@blasepivovar5 ай бұрын
this key light is boomed using the Kupo junior boom (linked in description) but for all other key lights just a normal light stand or c stand would do just fine. can't say I would recommend the Kupo unless you have tall ceilings 12ft+

very awesome setup! question do you get a lot of lag from the rode caster directly to the atem mini?
@blasepivovar5 ай бұрын
Yeah there is some noticeable lag in the file but you can just nudge it pretty quickly in resolve once you open your timeline
@jakubfurda3 ай бұрын
Hi Blase, I’m currently setting up my new podcast studio. I’ll have a similar setup. The ATEM from Blackmagic is definitely a great tool, but it’s a shame that the output is only Full HD - that’s not quite enough for KZbin nowadays. I was also considering it, but we’ll see. Regarding the cameras, did you have the focus set to manual or AF-C on the eye? PS: I hope you recorded in multitrack with the RODECaster.
@blasepivovar3 ай бұрын
Hey Jakub! I'll try to hit all those questions here quickly! Since I was using the ATEM mini pro ISO to cut in real time, all cameras were recording internally as well which allows my to swap the HD quality for the full res 4K of the cameras in resolve pretty easily! Focus was set to manual on all cameras and split the difference between the two guests. Rode Caster worked great other than a little audio drift. We did multitrack but the mixed down file straight from the board also sounded pretty good with a lil EQ and compression. Hope that helps!
@jakubfurda3 ай бұрын
@@blasepivovar Thank you! I just read that I can replace the clips in Resolve with RAW from the camera and cuts will remain. That’s an excellent solution for me. Your video came at the perfect time! :)

You achieved the look you were going for; however, I am not a fan of the overly dramatic lighting for a podcast. The outside speakers are heavily shadowed. For a podcast, I want to see the person's face when they are speaking. I would have added a small amount of light to the front to reduce the dark cinema look. That's just my opinion. Maybe the topic being discussed matched this lighting choice. It's clear this was the look you were going for and you knew how to achieve it.
