From the 15 to the 88 are great tube amps. This cat that designed and developed these amps are a great investments. These are an American made tube amp that fits every style of music.

The KT88 are also great for Metal and Hard Rock because they have so much headroom. It doesn't get very compressed sounding when you crank the volume like EL84, and EL34s.

btw, republic amps is the main one i was talking about...look up the demo. it's a 4w in the demo, but there are 15w, 40w, 60w and 100w's...the 15w sells for $500 and its all hand wired built in Austin, Tx U.S.A

@CMSpida If you're grouping the 15 watt Egnater Tweaker Combo into that group then you are sadly mistaken.

Really appreciate you using a Strat & a LP. Makes for a great review! Thanks!

@mattsavedbygracengai im not talking about any egnater, im talking about things like the cornford roadhouse series

I like EL34s I can you put them in like the 40?

Egnater clean tones are fantastic in every amp they make. Even the "Metal" Vengeance and Armageddon have beautiful clean tones. I'm looking for a Vengeance head. It would be awesome if Eganter made a 1x12 and/or 2x12 50/60 watt Vengeance combo with 6L6's. That would be the perfect amp for the large market of non pro players, who actually buy more quantity and keep music biz companies in business. This amps pretty cool, but something about it's high gain isn't as nice as other Egnater amps.
@CMSpida13 жыл бұрын
@MrDudeface23 well i guess it depends on whether you need the 88 watts. the orange TH30 is an amazing amp and have a look at the cornford roadhouse series.

I run a Boss Metal Zone in the effects loop of my Tweaker 15 head going into a 1×15" Fender Bass cab. I just ordered an Egnater Rebel 1x12" cabinet, I can't wait to try it out.
@blackdog19-645 жыл бұрын
Egnater would of been the # 1! Amp maker today( IF) he would have kept it in the good ole U.S.A. with better components and quality control... Too bad. Egnater taught Dave Friedman how knoodle his way to #1 now they do rack systems together. if not mistaken.

Eganter sound great . The price is just a bonus . They are a great value.

I happen to think most guitarists DO want to hear you talk about it. I mean, let's face it: Pretty much any sound coming from gear reviews online are NOT going to be a proper representation because every step in the audio chain compresses a little more signal. Also, we can't hear the magazine! lol

Will a 6L6 and EL34 power tubes work on this puppy?

Ignore this review. This head is amazing! I own one and it is a final purchase. Every great tone is in this head. If you have a crappy guitar with cheap pickups this head will expose that. My Strat with Fralins can get everything from Knopfler, to Gilmour, to Blackmore, to Rory Gallagher. My ESP LTD with Dimarzio 36's will give you AC/DC to Zep to Gary Moore. The key is using the cab that was made for this head along with a good set of strings. I use D'addario XLNY's. This head tends to the darker side (not in a bad way). I love the Marshall tone, however the Marshall 100H I tried sounded terrible with a guitar I have with EMG"S. This head LOVES EMG pickups.

@danielvalladares353612 жыл бұрын
dont think so dude, an amp with a really nice clean channel, and a lead channel that is way tweakable where you can get form petrucci's tone to a govan tone i've only seen this on this amp, and in other expensive amps.

Thanks for you're real feel, opinion on this amp. I own 1, and a custom built Celestial 4x12 cab. It is in storage right now. So if you have anymore----- advice/wisdom on this amp. I am a big Boogie- fan. For High an tone, my MARK, is the Stryper/ Boogie tone, are you familiar? If you could help some that would be Awesome!!!!!!! The reason i chose this amp, I can explain later. Thanks and Blessings------- sweet sleep. Chaz.

why would you have a shared EQ for channels specifically labeled rhythm and lead? Rhythm and lead tones are almost never EQ'd the same...
@hailmasch13 жыл бұрын
@Metallimeister Generally people EQ the neck pickup for a good rhythm and change to bridge for lead.

Looks like the Egnater Tweaker 88 is going out of commission. Rated in top 3 head amplifier worldwide. The brand should really make aboard stock. And just take orders and not have a reality stock available . because it costs llots to keep this in commission

i'm curious if anyone knows if this amp can compete with the EVH 5150, i am considering buying this amp but i don't know if it'll be as high gain or as good as a 5150, anyone own this amp that could tell me?
@soundknight8 жыл бұрын
I think you will get more musical results with less tweak-ability out of the Peavey.
@pufflelover18 жыл бұрын
for gain i would go with the 5150, for less distorted styles of music and pedals i would go with this

@deathcore123913 жыл бұрын
@MrDudeface23 think about it, if you have a tone of treble for your clean tone and you switch to your distortion, youll have a shitload of treble on your distortion and it will sound like shit. you have to find a tone that is decent on all channels because if your switching from clean to distortion in a live situation, theres no time to tweak the tone so that it works. they gave this amp the most misleading name ever haha a real tweaker would have a 7 band EQ for each channel haha
