Nice review! I actually bought the Iron Samurai Drift (even though you didnt personal gel with it) and yeah that also looks more samurai than sideswipe, here.

Mine finally arrived yesterday. One minor issue is that one of the extra hands that are for holding weapons are both right hands. That’s being taken care of. Love the design work, although I will say almost feels more ninja than samurai. Wish the spears had a connecting piece so they become one.

Iron Factory's Samurai TFs were so cool and they went into that "evergreen" noise. Thankfully their Beast Wars Samurai look much cooler

The alt mode is very, very close to the lamborghini veneno. I'll agree it's not very "samuri" but for having a really decent altmode I'm more than ok with it.

I honestly think the less overt samurai looks work on some of them and that the full samurai aesthetic it where most misses are. It's just weird he's supposed to be in the same subline as Grimlock. Only thing that bothers me with this guy is his small shoulders

Really, if they're going to go "samurai" they should go hard on that. This really only looks like an upgrade to their original Racing Bros with more melee weaponry. It looks good but is it different enough? And their upcoming Stunticons suffer from the same, aside from the Menasor mode which DOES hit more the samurai vibe. If they're trying to hit both their original aesthetic of G1-but-cooler alongside this new one... I don't know, maybe they shouldn't. Just do one or the other.
